I don't normally write reviews unless I have a GREAT experience or a BAD experience that I feel like needs to be shared. Unfortunately in this case I was not impressed with the level of customer service. I went in to buy a new band for my watch. The lady measured my current band, showed me a few options, and even put it on which was fantastic and why I am giving this review 2 stars instead of 1. Where it went south was without being asked she insisted on seeing my drivers ID so she could put my information in for what I am guessing is their customer loyalty program which was not explained to me. Fine, no big deal, but looking at customers ID's to buy a watch band seems like an invasion of privacy to me. My legal name is spelled differently than my preferred name and after clarifying that she made a comment of that it was "weird". I explained her my heritage and we moved on. She rung me up for 27.50 when the price tag on the band said 24.50. A few dollars difference so not a big deal, but I asked if there was a sales tax because the price listed was different than the charge. She proceed to say there's no tax in Oregon. Pointed out my address on ID and asked if there is tax in Ashland, OR? I answered no and she said, so why would there be tax on this.. I explained because the price was not accurately listed. She said nothing she can do about it because that's what is in the system. So in the 10 minutes I was there, I was forced to sign up for a customer loyalty program that I wasn't interested in using my personal information, mocked for my name, insulted for asking a legitimate question, and charged a higher price than what was originally marked. Read moreI had the pleasure of working with Dawn O'Connor at this Fred Meyer location. I was looking for a ring to replace my old wedding band. I wanted something very specific, but I went in about 5 times because I needed help narrowing down what it was that I really wanted. Dawn was so understanding and fun to work with. She was even sweet to my 3 very young children which I had on some of my visits.
I was interested in a promise ring but wanted some "Pink Champagne" Diamonds. She had them ordered and took so much time with me as I looked over them trying to decide. I was so glad she did this because it made me realize that it wouldn't look exactly the same was as I thought it would in my mind. She allowed me to take photos of the ring & of the extra diamonds & I then used photoshop at home to get close to real life image of what the ring would look like.
Anyway, I had pictured the centered diamonds being bigger than they were, but in reality they were a smaller size surrounded by smaller diamonds (Yeah, I'm not a jeweler. :-P) See and she was still ever so sweet and kind with me ... the untrained eye ... but ever so picky customer.
It made me want to buy the ring even though I decided against it just because my experience with her was so pleasant. I decided not to buy a replacement band at this time since the size of diamond I want just cost too much (regardless of where I go) for me to want to spend (I'm pretty frugal). However, I plan to go back whenever I do want some nice cosmetic jewelry, and I hope I get Dawn or anyone else who is as kind, patient and funny as her. It's great to laugh when shopping.

Read moreFantastic help and service by the Jewelry manager, Tim. I brought in a necklace I had ordered online. The prongs on the setting were sticking out a bit from the stone enough that they felt a little sharp and easily caught on clothing. He took a quick look at the piece and felt the prongs and said he thought he could take care of it there. No more than 5 minutes later it was ready to go with the prongs feeling as smooth against the stone as I could hope for. He was entirely pleasant to speak to.
I had called earlier to explain what I needed. The woman I spoke with insisted I would likely have to pay for work despite my explanation that the necklace had arrived in an unusable condition.
