First off I will all preface this by it was an Uber Eats order but that doesn’t change how the food is, just the price had the usual Uber bump by $2 for what I ordered but whatevs, I gave UberOne so free delivery and discounted or waived fees. Uber was 5 stars on this delivery tho, one of the fastest deliveries I’ve had.
On to the food, which ended up being highly disappointing. It was late and not a lot of options on a Sunday after 930pm but I rolled the dice on these guys based off the google review 4.9 rating. I don’t what type of Greek or Mediterranean food these reviewers have had in the past, but honestly I’ve had better gyros and Greek food at the County Fair. Many raves about the shawarma and gyro shawarma. Well what I received for my gyro shawarma meat were cut up little pieces of the pre-packaged thin sliced gyro meat you can get at the store…..and with that said…..it wasn’t even half as good as the package you can pick up from Trader Joe’s. The pieces were so thin then I’m guessing they threw them on a flattop to warm them, but all that did was dry them out, suck any flavor they may have had at one point, charred them up crispy like a chip. The MOST FLAVORLESS & DRY gyro meat I have ever had in my 40yrs of smashing gyros down throughout the lands. Next up was the Spicy Garlic Sauce. Well I thought maybe I’ll throw some of this on here and see if it makes it any better…..thank sweet baby Jesus I made it to the sink to spit it out before I completely yak’s all over the place. Idk what the heck that was…be mayo or yogurt with some red seasoning stirred up, but whatever it tasted spoiled and sour and food poisoning waiting to happen.
On to the 1 semi bright note. The Hummus & pita was decent. Pita was good but wasn’t homemade tho it is a truck so not gonna expect that. The Hummus smooth creamy texture was very good. Disappointed in the lack of that fresh lemon zest kick and no oils, herbs, or seasoning on top. I mean for the price I would have expected that.
So overall I understand it’s a suburb food truck and the usual suburb sheep that follow the herd who I read the review from. If you like a Gimmicky Flashy “Guy Fiery” food truck with just mid level quality and taste….then this place is for you. If you want the real deal, don’t make the mistake I did tonight….stay away from the “suburb international” food scene and stick to getting down and dirty in inner city Portland to get the good goods. I’ll step over any homeless passed out on the sidewalk to get to Shawarma Spot or Abu Omar Carts any day...

Read moreAlrighty so I ordered a falafel classic wrap about 35 mins before my lunch started so I would have thought they would have made it 10 15 mins before 1.. which I told him I'd be there around 1.. most likely 1:07. They made it right when I called I assume and let it sit in the closed box for over 30 mins so the French fries were soggy and cold and the wrap was a soggy squishy mess... the falafel was pretty grainy and tasteless... I think the pickles were probably the best part of the meal.. and what really topped the cake.. the spicy garlic sauce didn't even taste like spicy garlic it tastes like spicy mayo... after getting a replacement tomorrow for the inedible food I won't be venturing there again. If you want good falafel and spicy garlic sauce go to gyros2go. They are amazing and the food is fire. This place is...
