Admirals Club Terminal A — Local services in Tinicum Township

This has to be the worst Admirals Club in the network. The Flagship Lounge, where I'm standing now as I type this, is by far the least accommodating Flagship I've visited.

First of all, it's very loud, and it's standing room only. There aren't enough seats to accommodate the guests. In the 20 minutes I spent jockeying for a seat (hoping to grab a seat as people filtered out), I heard many people complaining about how this club is always overcrowded, and that we're lucky that they even let us in.

Second, AC outlets are available at the three tall shared tables, but they're not easily accessible anywhere else. For example, none of the 4-tops have outlets. It's 2025 folks. Every seat in the lounge should have a power outlet. Period. It's crazy to think that this lounge opened in May of this year.

Third, because this lounge is so small, the food selection is less than 1/3 of what's available at other Flagships, or even at the newly redone regular Admirals Clubs at LGA Term B and DCA Concourse E.

When I arrived in PHL and walked through Terminal A I remembered seeing AA’s signage for a new lounge coming soon. When I left out of Terminal A, I decided to checkout the current lounge, which, to my dismay, was difficult to located due to lack of signage, but once I entered and went down to the dark cave-like atmosphere I started to better understand why signage was so minimal. It was hot, dark and felt extremely claustrophobic. There were only a few scattered seats, with meager-looking snacks and a bar that was solely a window with a bartender behind it, which felt like I was in a high school gymnasium with a concession stand window. Not only was it so out-of-date (and definitely looking forward to the new and improved lounge coming soon), but it was just plain creepy. So I didn’t even bother finding a seat - I left, thanking the ladies at the check-in - and proceeded to walk the terminal. I found the Amex centurion lounge (still not great, but a vast improvement from the AA lounge), and realized that compared to DFW, PHL is in serious need of...

Imagine a free breakfast at a 3* hotel in the United States. Well, this lounge is very similar, but good 3* hotels do it better. Small, therefore cramped, minimal selection in food / snacks. If it is a "free" lounge which does not require a premium ticket to enter, I guess it's ok. If this is the lounge for your first and business class passengers traveling internationally, this is sub standard. (No flagship lounge at the moment at this airport) The staff seems to be doing an as good as possible job, but the lounge itself is beyond help. I left and went to the Amex lounge, which is also not the best, but much better than this lounge.
