Every time I go in there (which has been only 4 other times) I'm badly harassed, the older night time employees have very bad attitudes. If something rings up the wrong price and you tell them they get very nasty about it. I had a very bad incident a couple days with the self check out.me my mom and daughter was sharing a cart, we went to self check out. Each of us were going to do our own orders at separate machines. Immediately they stopped us, saying we have over 20 items. I tried to explain that it's different orders between the three of us. They allowed my mother (a white woman) to take her items out and scan. I was taking my items out and was going to give my daughter the cart to go to her own register to scan. The employees immediately surrounded me as if I was stealing or something . I rang up 9 items. And they froze my screen giving me a hard time. One of the employees put herself in the front of the machine just to stop me from scanning. And three to four other employees surrounded me. Telling me they are not allowing me to ring out because I have over 20 items.they they said the machine froze because I scanned over 20 items already. When in fact (and I counted it out to them) I only scanned 9 items at the time. I kept trying to explain, me and my daughter have separate transactions and my daughter is going to another register. They tried to pull the cart out of my hands. I then started raising my voice and telling them to leave me alone and let me ring out. They proceeded to tell me I can no longer do my purchase. I then started recording them because I felt attacked . The register they froze on me, they unfroze it for a man(white man) that had a huge cart full of items well over 50 items. I went to a regular register and rang out. My mother and I as well as my daughter went to customer service to get their names because the woman in charge (Donna) wouldn't give me her name. And the coach of the store even gave me a hard time at the self check out and refused to give their names. While at customer service. The employee gave my mother paper and there was a pen on the counter. My mom grabs the pen to use it. The woman in charge (Donna) then walks up and said to my mother. "Who said you can use that pen, you can't use it" my mother says why can't I. She then proceeds to look at me and tell me I can not record. When in fact I can because I called corporate and they said I have the right to record especially if I feel harassed. Two customers came up to me during this whole situation (both black) and said they feel that the workers and very racist and they are always having problems . Another woman went up to my mother a (white woman) and said she just did two separate transactions and she had well over 20 items and they didn't give her a hard time. I feel I was racially profiled ... Tom's River Walmarts head manager called me two days later and I explained what happened . She couldn't tell me what she is going to do about this but I think all the employees (especially Donna and the coach) should be fired! I don't go into this Walmart often because of this. I've been traveling to the brick Walmart which is 25 mins away from me to avoid this Walmart even though it's only 8 mins from my home. Something needs to be done about this , not just a slap on the hand . In the pictures I post will show the man's cart after mine (that they unlocked the screen for so he can ring out. And the other picture will show my cart. I have a garbage pail in the cart. A mirror and school supplies. This is insane. I was told to contact a lawyer in which I am strongly debating on...
Read moreSomething needs to be done about their loss prevention system. Over the loud speaker, employees announce to security which aisles to scan on the cameras, when an employee finds someone acting of behaving in a suspicious manner. Today I was shopping in the store and picking up a few household items. About every five minutes, a voice would come over the loud speaker asking security to scan specific aisles. As I'm shopping, I thought they must have a problem with shoplifters and this is how they prevent theft, which I'm sure costs the store thousands per year. The time came for me to pay for my six items and leave the store, so I went to self checkout since it was empty, besides one little old lady who had just finished paying. Before I even scanned my first item, a voice came over the loud speaker and says, security please scan self checkout. I looked around to try and see if I could find the theif only to come to realize, I was the only person in self checkout. I paid for my items, because I'm not a thief, and then, hate to be a Karen, but I asked to speak with a manager. I explained what just happened and how I was literally the only customer in self checkout when a voice came over the loud speaker for security to check self checkout. I asked if I did anything wrong. They said no. I asked what the criteria was that made me seem suspicious, they said that it was random. I explained how someone could perceive that as an accusation of wrongdoing and that it's not right to accuse people who are merely there to shop of wrongdoing. I asked how they would feel if it happened to them. It's not right. What they are doing is wrong could be considered profiling, which is illegal for places of business to do in the state of NJ, as it violates anti-discrimination laws. I am Hispanic but did not choose to play the race card, because I can not prove their intent. I am also a US Military Veteran and do not appreciate because accused of doing something wrong when I was trying to do was pay for the stuff I was buying. This experience does not sit right with me and management or corporate needs to do more, so as to make sure that their employees are trained properly, so as to not abuse or accuse customers of wrongdoing when all they're trying to do is shop. I am local and shop here all the time. I have seen them use the loudspeaker as a means of loss prevention countless times. They are the only store I have ever seen that does it every five minutes, which seems a bit excessive. Not everyone shopping in your store is a shoplifter. Please do better and be better. So upset by...
Read moreThe customer service is awful and that includes ALL departments! They are nasty and deflective when you ask for assistance and always say that they don't know ask someone else. Extremely rude staff and the store is a mess and in total disarray while staff just stands around talking to each other while customers need assistance. The pharmacist threatened to violate HIPPA laws by using my private information to call the police just because I asked for the 10 pills that the pharmacy owed me for a prescription that I got filled weeks before and the prescription was for 90 pills but they only had 80 so I went back a few weeks later and the "Karen" that was working there refused to give me the 10 pills she said I couldn't get them until my refill date which would have left me without my medication for almost a week she couldn't comprehend what had happened and that I was owed these pills. She didn't want to listen to what I said and she said I know your name and all of your information I'm going to call the police on you. I laughed so hard and I said go right ahead because you'll be violating my HIPAA rights and you will get in trouble for doing that and I won't get in trouble at all because all I did was ask for 10 pills that you owed me I wasn't asking for my script to be filled early I was asking for the remainder of my script so that I didn't go without my medication for the next couple of days. her co-workers had to try to restrain her and push her down one of those little Pharmacy isles and of course she didn't fit and she kept going off and her co-workers were trying to explain to her that she was about to violate federal law if she called the police using my HIPAA information and all I said to her was go right ahead because Julie Walmart sounds great finally her co-workers got her to calm down and realize the error in her ways and the manager was nice enough to get my medication that was owed to me the 10 little pills and apologize for the incident. This made me very upset I already have depression and anxiety and it really made it worse so again as I've said before do not use Walmart Pharmacy they are not good and they do not offer the deals that they say they do. Sorry for such a long story but I wanted you to understand how far this woman was willing to go just because I had asked for my medication and I did so in a very calm and appropriate way and she's the one that went off so please be careful of Walmart pharmacies they often give me the wrong amount of pills or they just fill wrong prescription and...
