Blue Fountain Restaurant — Restaurant in Toms River

The food at the Blue Fountain is always good. But I have a complaint about the service. On Thanksgiving we arrived at 4:25 it was very busy. What I noticed right away they did not have enough serving Staff. When our waitress came over she was rude to my mother when she asked a question. She then asked us what we wanted to drink and then again my mother had a question about something on the menu She said I will have to come back and she walked away. A third time she was also rude. When she finally came back my mother asked another question and she explained that she had worked there 8 years. My mother tried to be polite and make conversation with her but again she was rude her name was Mary Ann and I think that it is important that when you go to a restaurant you should be treated properly it's not just a matter of the food being good The waiters and waitresses should all be polite and nice. So for that reason I am giving the blue fountain a hands down! If it was me and I was the owner I would have sent her home I also heard her being rude to the two tables next to me! I ordered take out this evening. You would think I would be told over the phone that their credit card machines were down and that they were only taking cash-nope! I arrived and noticed the sign on the door and confirmed with the person at the register. There was no “sorry for the inconvenience.” Just a shoulder shrug that the machines were down.

My food is ready and sitting at the counter at this point. Now I have to go to the nearest ATM, which is in the opposite direction. I made it back with cash in hand, again, no apologies for the inconvenience or no acknowledgement. Of course when I get home the food is cold-especially my $1.00 extra sweet potato fries. I understand charging extra for the sweet potato fries- all restaurants usually charge extra. However, other restaurants don’t charge extra for half a portion. My mother received a separate container for her regular French fries and I received whatever they can stuff in the same container as my burger, which wasn’t much.

Too much aggravation and mediocre food for $28. This was my first and will be my last time at this...

I do laundry on Sundays and usually order from peekin if i am hungry but peekin is closed for a few weeks so I decided to try blue fountain. The chicken Parm was pretty good. They gave me soda in a soup cup with a lid which I wasn't a fan of.

The reason I am giving them 2 stars despite the food being good(soft drink in a soup cup aside) is because they made me feel unwanted or like I did something really wrong! I felt like I was being given an attitude by all of the old white women there. It could be because my skin is brown, I'm covered in tattoos, or that I am wearing pink shorts maybe lol I was getting started at by a table for 10 minutes too. I had to wave everytime I looked over and saw that they were still staring.

I shouldn't feel like I did something wrong or that I am hated for what I wear, the color of my skin, or my tattoos! This is 2022 not 1990! I won't be going...
