This office is responsible for putting me through the worst pain of my life. The experience was genuinely traumatizing and I could not go to doctors without panicking for years. The best i can do is hope they shut down and warn others not to go. It was absolutely as a result of their horrible low staffing, poor bookkeeping, and over booking. They were not careful of my case because they simply didn’t have the time to care due to the poorly run environment.. I wish i had realized how wrong I was had been treated within the 2 years of statue of limitations, but I am not a doctor so I am not educated enough to have known how wrong this was.
I was being treated for interstitial cystitis here. This is a chronic pain condition. I ended up getting a UTI, and knew my pain had become different and asked to be tested. The power went out the day I dropped off my sample of urine, and I found out later no one had delivered my urine sample because the employees all went home early that day. Because they did not sample my urine, they proceeded to treat me for acute interstitial cystitis pain. They had me go through rounds of pain installations.
My UTI was worsening without proper treatment. At home I was peeing blood and chunks of my bladder tissue. The pain had bedridden me. I knew something was horribly wrong so i asked them to test my urine again. Because they had neglected to test my first sample, my UTI had gotten to this detrimental point.
I was still doing my bladder installations, hoping it would help if i kept with it, as the doctors had instructed me. these bladder installations, years later i can tell you, were one of the most traumatizing experiences of my life. Everyone involved should be ashamed. Due to their overbooking, I'd often have to wait an hour+ for my appointments, adding the anticipation of the pain I was about to endure to my mental stress.
The pain was harrowing. i used to shake and sob and hold back screams as the tech filled my bladder with liquid. a doctor was never in the room to witness what i was going through due to their overbooking and under staffing. even though i requested to see a doctor multiple times so i could tell them of my worsening conditions, i was always told they didnt have the time to speak to me. i’m sure if a doctor had the time to listen to what i was going through they would have stopped the treatments. it was so horrible once a tech hugged me after she was done putting me through the pain.
and then one day when i showed up for a bladder installation appointment, they told me they had finally tested my urine, and i could no longer get the installations because i had an active, strong infection. They had been giving me installations throughout my entire infection (the whole ordeal was about a month of my life, bedridden and incapable when I was not at their office) and they themselves informed me this was a wrongful procedure. i wish i sued.
genuinely one of the most cold, uncaring, irresponsible doctor offices i’ve ever dealt with. and they should not be in charge of anyone's physical bodies with the harm they can do with this lack of accountability. please don’t go, you are putting your safety and health at risk here.
I am 26 now. These experiences happened around 22. I've known other people since to tell me of their own negative experiences here since I've shared my story. This place needs to be...
Read moreI was briefly a patient here a few years ago when the office was still located on Hospital Drive. Aside from the unpleasant demeanor of every staff member when I was a patient there, my main concern is with my experience today.
Believe the other reviews about obtaining medical records. I submitted an online inquiry under the generic "contact us" form on the website. I had not heard back so I decided to call. I called today, September 17 2024. The receptionist told me that the notes in the system indicated that I spoke to someone on August 2nd 2024 and that I was informed about their policy regarding receiving the records. This is a complete fallacy, no calls were received or made from this office on August 2nd 2024. Only one unknown call, flagged by my phone as suspected spam and rejected, was received on August 2nd 2024 at 7:03pm. I have had the same single phone number for over 20 years.
Moving past the lie, I asked how to obtain my records. I was told that I must come in person to the office to sign a release. Fine, I am willing to do so. I was also told that I would have to pay a dollar per page if I wanted my records printed. I stated that I do not require printed records and that an email of the documents in PDF format or similar would be fine. The receptionist then informed me that they do not email records and offered to "fax the records to the new urologist". I informed her that I do not have any other urologist, I want my records for my own personal medical file. I asked why I was being denied access to my medical records due to my inability to pay them a dollar per page and she stayed that she did not know why her office has this policy, only that it is the policy. She then forwarded me to the voicemail of an unnamed individual who was purported to be the supervisor of medical records. I left a voicemail for this person regarding my concerns and they have not called me back. Shockingly unprofessional...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO ANY OFFICE OF UNIVERSITY UROLOGY!!!! ADMIN is terrible!!! The TomsRiver office would snail mail (USPS) forms to me. They do not use email or barely fax. I had a persistent UTI and had already been on my 2nd set of antibiotics. On February 13th I called the Toms River office to speak with my doctor.
"Well, he only comes in on Tuesdays and he is booked today. You will have to wait until February 27th when you are scheduled to speak to him."
I had to visit an Urgent Care for a urine test that was abnormal. They gave me a 3rd set of antibiotics. I wanted to change to another urinary MD and arranged for that. On February 27th I spoke with Dr. Mamood of University and he was OK with that. He was a wonderful MD but the admin is just stuck in 1950. I later get a call from someone at University Urology about transferring my medical records to my new MD. "We need you to come in and sign a Release Form." Me: "OK, fax me the form and I'll sign it." "No, we can't do that, you have to come in."
They even refused a request from my new MD's office for my records. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
