Torrington Parkade — Local services in Torrington

I was amazed to see that Rocket Motors still exists after 30 years? Shopped at Lowe's and I love Lowe's it's clean it's super organized especially compared to Home Depot which I'm forced to shop at most the time because that's closest to where I live in San Diego. The workers were friendly and showed us where the wall anchors were. One of the young workers of female even endured my dad going on for 10 minutes about having them look up his credit card because he forgot to bring it the total purchase was only $2.48 but he wanted to have the expense on his credit card so he could track it and deduct from capital gains when he sold the house eventually. Also, I shopped next door at Big Y and was impressed with the layout of the store the size the cleanliness in the workers were nice that I spoke with. Big Y is pretty darn expensive. Also, I don't miss Radio Shack or Caldor, camel greens, Greenfield's grocery store? or the other stuff that was there years ago. Times have really changed and the plaza has really been...

Pros: The variety of shops and their quality Massive parking lot Usually no abandoned carts in the parking lot

Cons: Parking lot is usually pretty congested There is no phone service when you're in the shops most of the time

It's a pretty average shopping plaza, with pretty average shops. Nothing extraordinary or anything to report.

The biggest draw back for me was the lack of phone service in Big Y.

As minor as that sounds, I don't think anyone likes having to walk out of a store just to make a phone call or anything of the sort.

If you have to buy groceries for someone else, or if you're expecting an urgent phone call...Big Y probably...

This shopping center is excellent but my reason for my rating is due to the lack of cel phone reception anywhere in the stores. There's also barely if any reception in the lot. I've been lucky on very rare occasions to get enough bars to call my husband when our car died and I had our 5yo with me on a hot summer day. But it took a while to find a spot and I barely got through telling him before it dropped again. I was able to tell him car died big y. Since I knew the chances of it staying connected long enough ot explain was slim to none. Other then that I love this...
