707 Asian Fusion — Restaurant in Torrington

Today was my first time going to this restaurant. Walked in with my wife, no sign saying to seat yourself and we stood around for 5 waiting for any employees to show up, and there were people seated and eating, so those patrons were apparently being ignored.

Someone came out of the backhand said to seat ourselves, so we did so. Another few minutes later someone brought us water, but no menus. A few minutes after the waiter finally came up and brought us menus, literally a minute later he came back asking if we were ready to order. Now we had planned on doing the all you can eat option, I expressed as much and the waiter took our menus away to replace them with the correct type. Another minute later he's back asking if we are ready to order. We figure out what we want quickly and order it. Our drinks come out rather quickly, but our food takes 15-20 minutes even though the place is mostly dead.

When our food arrives all of the rolls have 2-4 times the normal amount of rice on them. My wife and I can normally house 8-10 rolls and have room for desert, these 6 rolls were enough that we had to force ourselves to eat them so we did not get hit with the leftover food charge.

I'm NEVER going back to this place, and I can't understand why anyone would frequent this...

My roommate ordered from GrubHub last week and while the food wasn't great it was edible for the most part, save the really chewy chicken he received. I had a sushi craving so I ordered from GrubHub last night. 20 minutes after they accepted my order I get a call from the driver saying there was an issue with my order, he passed the phone to a woman working for Asian 707 who began to immediately SCREAM at me that I ordered using the wrong menu, the old menu, I was wrong wrong wrong and they could not give me food. I repeatedly tried to ask what about my order would need to be changed since I had ordered cold peanut noodles and their "Torrington" roll, both of which they should have been able to approximate easily - even if they had changed their menu without notifying GrubHub. She just kept shrieking that my order was wrong, my roommate could hear her easily from the other side of the room. I finally disconnected the call and reached out to GrubHub who immediately refunded my order and apologized. After I had ordered from another local restaurant I realized someone had left the first review for this place on GrubHub - I understand we dealt with the same horrible woman. The restaurant tries to blame GrubHub for their failures. Will never...

Unbelievable meal. We have lived in the area for years now, and have driven by but never thought to stop in. We were on our way to a different restaurant, it was getting late (I was getting hangry) so my wife suggested we try 707 Asian. I was reluctant at first but I was so hungry that I didn't put up much of a fight. Boy am I glad I didn't. We are sushi snobs, have eaten it all over the U.S. from coast to coast, and as crazy as it sounds this place was right up there near the top of the list. The food was fresh, delicious, and played expertly. The restaurant was extremely clean, bathrooms were immaculate, the servers were kind and attentive. The sushi itself was out of this world good. Blows table 570 in Simsbury right out of the water and for just about half the price. They even gave my wife a COMPLIMENTARY piece of cheesecake that was divine. I can't say enough about how great this place was. I'm so thrilled we stopped in and had a chance to experience it. We will absolutely be back very soon, I and suggest that if you live in the area, and like Sushi... Get your behind...
