My family had been coming here since the 1980s, at least. I was excited to come here with my wife to buy our new outdoor furniture, as I had done with my parents. First off, this place still operates in the "let's make a deal" phase. We were helped by Marti Perrone, who made a big deal of getting us a great deal on items they no longer stocked and were clearing out. I had checked their site while in store and, yup, the items were no longer on there. When I got home I found it in Google Cache, though, and the incredible deal she made such a big deal out of getting for us was more than it had been marked down to while on the website. For months. We bought the final items for more than the cost, and Marti made it out as if she did us a favor. Ridiculous, awful service. Lying to people won't get them to come back.
As it turned out, we had issues with our new pool and did not really use the outdoor furniture this season. At the end, though, the finish had come off of the arm of each couch, even the side of one no one had sat on. Well, fine, Marti had highly encouraged us to purchase the extended warranty: $420 for the extended warranty. After literal hours on hold with the warranty provider, Guardsman, we were denied. The finish on the arm was not covered. What was covered? Well, our copy says "scratches on cast aluminum that penetrate through the finish, exposing the aluminum." So, this should be covered. Guardsman says no. Our option is to spend hours on hold trying to get this resolved, and it likely wouldn't be, so we're out not only the $2k per couch, but the $400 for the warranty. And, of course, Marti had us pay more than necessary.
So yeah, this is a company that will happily scam you. They'll have you pay more and tell you it's a deal. They'll sell you a warranty that does not actually do anything. Read moreWe give Fortunoff's in Wayne 10 STARS!!!! We recently purchased a large outdoor trunk and large outdoor umbrella from a different Fortunoff and paid to have these items delivered. We waited a very long time for them to arrive, only to learn that the only delivery option was curbside. This was totally unacceptable as we have a very long driveway, and these items are too heavy for us to move that long distance. The customer service rep was not helpful, and we requested a refund, which we did receive. My husband visited Fortunoff's Wayne and was thoroughly impressed with the outstanding customer service he received from the minute he walked in. He explained our problem with the previous store to Nassib Faris and Windel Westlock and asked if it was possible to pick up the items directly from the Wayne store. Nassib and Windel were incredibly attentive, taking the time to understand our needs and saying they would work this all out for us.
What stood out the most was their genuine care and commitment to ensuring an excellent shopping experience. They were patient and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure we were completely satisfied with this purchase. The entire process was smooth and fast, and my husband left feeling valued as a customer.
Fortunoff's Wayne has our loyalty, and we will definitely be returning for future purchases to this store. Highly recommend this store for anyone looking for quality products and top-notch customer service-ask for Nassib...
Read moreBack in May we ordered some chairs, a small table, a love seat and a huge umbrella for a table we already had that we bought a few years ago. In other words we spent a large sum of money. We put the umbrella in the hole of the table and the first big storm we had, the umbrella was lifted out of the hole and tilted. Luckily it didn’t break the umbrella or the table. We took the umbrella out of the hole and haven’t used it since, which was very annoying because it was expensive. we did not want to put the umbrella back until we had a base heavy enough to hold down the umbrella. We looked on line for various ideas and finally decided to go back to fortunoffs and ask them what we should do. Imagine my surprise when they asked me why I didn’t buy the extra heavy base that goes with the umbrella in the first place? Because our sales person never mentioned it! I was very annoyed because we haven’t used the umbrella all summer because we didn’t want it to break. I purchased the heavy base and an extra 30 lb weight that goes with the base.
