My recent encounter with Marcellus, a Home Depot store manager, was nothing short of exasperating. It was abundantly clear that Marcellus possessed an unwarranted sense of self-importance and a willingness to twist store policies to fit his personal whims, leaving me thoroughly frustrated.
My ordeal began when I sought clarification on Home Depot's return policy for a damaged product I had purchased. Rather than providing clear, reliable information, Marcellus unapologetically fabricated a new rule on the spot: that all returns required a receipt, even though Home Depot's actual policy allows returns without a receipt under certain circumstances.
When I challenged this blatantly incorrect statement, Marcellus's response was infuriating. He stood his ground with unwarranted confidence, as if his word was law, and he had no obligation to verify the store's actual policies or consult his colleagues. His arrogance was astonishing.
What made my experience even worse was witnessing Marcellus apply this erratic decision-making to other customers. He arbitrarily decided that certain products were exempt from price matching, despite Home Depot's official price-matching policy. This left customers bewildered and disgruntled, further highlighting Marcellus's penchant for bending the rules to suit his own agenda.
Perhaps the most alarming aspect of this encounter was Marcellus's total lack of accountability. He refused to acknowledge his mistakes or seek guidance from higher-ups, creating unnecessary inconvenience and confusion for customers. It was as if Marcellus considered himself the ultimate authority within the store, and the well-being of customers was an afterthought.
In summary, Marcellus's tenure as a Home Depot store manager was marked by a troubling disregard for established policies and customer service norms. His unfounded self-assuredness, tendency to create rules on a whim, and unwillingness to accept criticism or admit error are qualities that should never be tolerated in a manager. Home Depot should prioritize retraining its management to ensure that customers are treated fairly and consistently, and policies are enforced accurately. Marcellus's actions were not only unprofessional but also detrimental to the Home Depot brand and...
Read moreI normally buy quality products from this Home Depot but their customer service is terrible and borderline atrocious. I made an in store purchase for a grill on Monday June 12, 2017 and requested the included assembly. I was told that it would be done by Thursday night but to pick it up on Friday June 16 which was fine. I stressed that I needed it before Sunday (father's day). They said I would receive a call to let me know when it was ready for pick up. I received the call on Friday night near their closing time. I was told it was assembled and ready to pick up the next day. When I came in the next day, the customer service aisle handed me a grill still in the box and spent over 30 minutes fidgeting around to realize that it was supposed to be assembled but the person behind the counter did not put any record of that with the receipt or their own information. From there they tell me I can pick up fully assembled by next Thursday June 22 which was long after my requested date. Apparently they have one guy("Mike") who assembles these items on Thursdays and he was kind enough to ignore my purchase along with several others. From there I received an apology from customer service and was promised it would be assembled by the time they open on Sunday morning(7am). I accepted the offer since they kept me there until closing time that night. At 10:30 that night I receive a call from them saying it will be ready by 7:30am. When I arrive on Sunday morning at 7:35am they hand me the same box again, practically deny the included assembly for it, until one other worker recalls me and the grill from previous days. From there I am told to wait another 30 minutes, since "Mike" had come in late and just started working on it. It took over an hour to finally receive my assembled grill. I may never buy another large product that may need assembly again from...
Read moreIf I could leave a zero review for the delivery service I would (Estes Delivery). Ordered a Wood Sing Set that was received at the facility on Thurs 5/18. I did not receive a phone call to set up delivery date until the following Monday 5/22. Wanted to set up delivery date for next day, Tuesday 5/23, but since no one would be home when delivered, date was set for Wednesday 5/23. By 6pm that Wednesday, no one came to deliver product. My wife works from home and was there the whole time. I called that day and was told by a representative that the driver called my number and because no one answered, the delivery was cancelled!!!! NO VOICEMAIL WAS LEFT! I am at work, and sometimes am not able to get the phone. And since no voicemail was received, all calls that was missed was perceived as Spam. Representative told me that someone will call me the next day to re-schedule. Said to even call next morning to re-schedule so not waiting all day for call. I called the next morning to schedule, was told that someone will call me by the end of the day. NO ONE CALLED!!!! When I called AGAIN, the person I spoke with said that there was a call attempt that day around 3pm and no one answered. THAT IS A TOTAL LIE!!!! No one called me at all between the time i spoke with them that morning and time called that night, have my phone records as proof. They put in false information to cover themselves. This company are liers and do not care about their customers. Because of this, my delivery was not sent until the first week of June after arriving at their warehouse on 5/19. My daughter did not have her new swing set for the Memorial Day weekend. Did I mention, that their warehouse is only 15 minutes from my house?! Worst delivery service I ever had to deal with. Will never order...
