I had the most horrible experience at this hospital. I went in for something minor and was told by my doctor that it needed to be looked at. I started to develop jaw pain and swelling after taking new medication. After I got to the hospital the nurse started asking routine questions and once it got to the personal female questions, he started laughing at my responses and gave me a judgmental looks. I’ve never felt more humiliated in my entire life. The professionalism of the staff that I saw was horrifying. The biggest reason I came in because I had swelling of my jaw and was having difficulty talking. I had my doctor tell me to go to the ER because they were concerned I was having complications with new medications. After telling the nurses at this hospital all of my symptoms they did not check anything on me. I had another nurse practitioner come in to “look at me”. The first sentence out the nurses mouth was “I have no idea why you were sent here.” He proceeded to tell me that most of the things the my doctor told me the day before were wrong and that I was wasting their time by coming in. Everything that was said to me by this nurse practitioner was horrible and he put me down. He put me down about everything I did to help my symptoms and was telling me I did a lot of things wrong. It was almost like he was trying to argue with me. I was completely alone in the room when this happened. I did not in any way feel comfortable. I sat in the chair while he did this in shock and didn’t know what to say. I was alone and had came immediately from duty (military). They were trying to rush me out the waiting room. I started breaking out in tears. I know they knew I was upset by the response of this nurse. They pretty much told me I was having dental issues and to follow up so the dental. I went to dental the next day and confirmed that it was a reaction to the medication and not dental issues. I’ve never left a review before anywhere. I felt the need to do so after my visit at River Hospital. It bothers me how little they did to check my health. It’s a bit concerning, I hope they don’t do that anyone else. I can understand a rough day, but I just think in this profession things can be missed if you treat your patients this way. Luckily, my symptoms weren’t that significant. I’ve been bothers by this visit for a few days now. Hopefully this review reaches someone who...
Read moreWorst hospital I’ve ever been too would 100% rather go to Samaritan and that’s hard to say. I went in for severe nausea and constant throwing up for days. Waited 4 hours in the waiting room then they finally called me to reception to ask me what I was there for when I already told them what I was there for to begin with then when I corrected them and asked if this was check in they said yes and finally checked me in my doctor had already come out during that time so I had to wait another 30-40 mins before I finally just asked to see my doctor because they had already called my name while doing check in which they should’ve done THE MOMENT I WALKED IN… after I finally get into the room they then make me wait another hour and a half before I even got vitals done. just to tell me to sit and wait for another nurse to come in so after probably almost 6-7 hours I finally get into a room and see someone which then she proceeded to tell me they will do a CT scan and pump me with fluids so I get that done and in the middle they gave me something in the IV that was suppose to “”sedate”” me which ended up doing the complete opposite my heart was beating through the roof I was pacing back and fourth around the room I have never felt that in my life. When I told the nurse my heart was beating out of my chest and she could physically see me in distress she then gave me a weird look and just said I will let the nurse know. Then after pacing for another 30-45 mins I told them I don’t think I will be able to continue with the CT scan there was no way I could sit still during it after what they gave me so they let the nurse know and she comes barging in with a very snotty tone and says “so your not gonna let me work to my full capability” sorry but no not after you just gave me a shot that was supposed to “”sedate”” me and now my chest is pumping thru the roof and that’s when I up and left feeling 100x worse then...
Read moreSpouse had appt scheduled for 09/29/22 at 1500 hrs. After driving 2 hrs from jobsite to make appt he was informed appt had been cancelled. He recd no notification of cancellation.. When I filed complaint w/ Quality Specialist Ms Nichols she sent letter stating clinic mgr stated 2 attempts had been made on day prior to appt at 3:55 PM & 4:54 PM to give notification of cancellation. I was also told it is River Hospitals protocol to only make 2 attempts to contact patient. Although they knew no contact w/patient had been made no attempt was made in the 6 hrs prior to appt for notification. My husband rescheduled his appt for 13 Oct 22 at this clinic. When I filed my complaint with Ms Nichols I told her my spouse would attempt to see urgent care in meantime and if he was able to be seen we would call and cancel the 13 Oct appt. My spouse was seen at urgent care on 5 Oct and was referred to specialist. So I called the clinic this morning 6 Oct to cancel 13 Oct appt and was told it had already been cancelled. I asked who cancelled it and was told they did not know. I believe this was done in retaliation because I filed a complaint, even though they espouse filing a complaint does not result in retaliation against you. Had my husband not been seen at urgent care and had shown up for the 13 Oct appt he would have once again been told appt was cancelled. We recd no notification of this cancellation. Although clinic letter states they had attempted on 28 Sep prior to the 29 Sep appt to have called I find it strange my phone has no record of...
