This was the worst hotel experience that my husband and I have ever experienced. We booked a room because my husband's squadron was having their military ball there. At the end of the night when we went to our bedroom, we could literally hear EVERY word the couple next to us was saying. The walls were literally paper thin. I went to talk to the front desk and let them know we were just going to leave and asked for a refund or at least discount and she refused. I went back to the bedroom and my husband was already packing up because the couple next door was having more than a conversation now... if you know what I mean and we could hear every second of it. We went back to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. The manager on duty looked like a bartender. He was wearing an apron and my husband swears he was drunk. He was extremely rude and basically said that because we were part of a military group, we're expected to be rowdy. He didn't understand that we didn't care about people having fun and being loud but we shouldn't hear EVERYTHING that was happening in the room next to us. He said that his manager just left who could give the refund so I asked him to call her and he laughed and said he wasn't calling her about this. What a slap in our faces. We had to walk away at that point because we were so dumbfounded that we were being treated like that. We never got a refund. DO...

Stayed here while on a bus trip with a group of adults. The location was great for our purpose, which was touring the 1000 Islands area, including a few castles and wineries. Charles, the manager, made our stay enjoyable. He and his staff were very attentive and accommodating. They even bent over backwards to make sure that they gave us rides on a golf cart to the restaurant or our bus when needed. I stayed in Big Moose lodge and the view from the balcony was great. I saw Heart island with Boldt castle, and had a panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River. Many boats went by and it was a great place for birding, reading and relaxing. This seems like a place that families would enjoy. There is a lot of space outside for kids to run around and explore. Other than the restaurant, I would not call this an upscale place. Since I was with a group, we ate our seafood buffet dinner in the private banquet room they call the gazebo/red room since the restaurant was busy. It had a stage, a bar, a large balcony, couch, etc. It was connected to the gift shop/lobby area and restaurant. Unfortunately, it was overcast and rainy the whole time I was there (and it was just passed Labor Day) so I didn't get to use the outdoor pool, but it looked nice. The only real complaint I had was the Wi-Fi. I found it very hard to make a phone call...

Room 101 itself is just okay but you can't beat the view from the balcony. Positive: parking is steps away from the room, you can hear the water lapping the building, fishing right outside below the balcony, it's close enough to walk downtown but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. Service was excellent, price is fair at about $200 a night including taxes. Downside: King bed didn't have a pillowtop so kinda hard, sliding glass door is very old and makes quite a racket operating, one large water facing window had a crack all the way down it covered with tape, and no microwave. Definitely will book again just for the peaceful spot & view.

While I would not normaly give five stars, I am because after many years of coming here pre-pandemic, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they have finally done some much needed renovations to the rooms. It's not that they were bad before, just tired. They have redesigned the entire bathroom as well as replaced all flooring, added keycard access and a mini fridge. There is a single use coffee brewing machine in the room, but a nespresso or keurig machine would be better :) I will continue to visit Edgewood as I have done for the past 15 or so years. These pictures were taken from the my balcony .
