We didn’t really like the calamari. My husband had rye so serious and I had the landlubber both was pretty good. This place has a seating by window view to water. Our waiter was DJ O (that’s what it said in our receipt) and he was friendly. Attached more pictures. We’re back 2 days after the dinner we had in here. At this time we tried their breakfast since I just found out from reading reviews someone said they had breakfast at blu anchor so I told my husband we can go back and try it before we checked out from our hotel. For breakfast we sat by the window, and I had 2 over easy eggs, homefries and wheat toast. My husband had eggs Benedict with ham, then our waitress (was Brittney that morning) asked him what side he want with it, my husband thought she was asking which protein he chose (which he already said ham) so with both misunderstanding my husband egg Benedict came with ham on the plate then 2 minutes after they brought a small plate of side of ham and we were looking each other like what?? We were confused why we have so many ham lol. Then Brittney came over and we told her about it and she said to my husband “well I asked you what side and you said ham” since my husband didn’t want the drama back and forth and Brittney seems didn’t know how to handle the situation and didn’t took it as was a mistaken my husband said “that’s fine” but then he can’t even eat the whole ham like how many foods he can handle that morning with too much ham?! I hate wasting money and food. I told my husband, in common sense first of all if the menu didn’t come with any sides with it why on earth she has to ask if he wants any sides?! That part was confused us also another common sense who would order eggs Benedict with ham and side of ham 🤷🏻‍♀️

We made reservations for 1:00 PM, just because it was a Sunday and we didn’t know how busy it would be. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation, and were promptly seated. The server came & took our drink order (all soft drinks or water). Then we sat. The server came & took our food order. She took the order and all was well. As we’re waiting, the restaurant starts to get busier. 35-40 minutes after we give our order, still no food. ( **Note the meal was bowls of soup, appetizers, & 1 fish sandwich.) We finally question one of the other servers, as our server was nowhere to be found. She brings our meals out. 5 minutes later, our server comes over to ask how everything is. She barely stood still long enough to hear the answer, and disappeared again. At this time, several of the other tables that had come in well after we did got their meals. We requested to speak to a manager while we were waiting for our check. The manager came over & spoke to us, apologized but said that the kitchen was very busy. No offer to “comp” even our drinks, no discount nothing. The server comes back over to our table, and says your total is $ 85.40. She does not give us a bill, so we had to ask for it. She goes & prints out a copy of the bill and gives it to us, then stands over my shoulder waiting for us to pay. The food was good, the service was NOT! For such a “well established” business, it didn’t seem that way to us. PLEASE NOTE, it was listed as Riley’s River , but the menus, and signage in front of the restaurant said Blu Anchor.

We were happy to find a breakfast spot with gluten free bread. I couldn’t find a breakfast menu anywhere online so I am happy to share one, see pics. I believe they also serve lunch and dinner. This is in the middle of Downtown Alexandria Bay and right on the water. If you need the GF bread make sure to call and confirm they have it in stock before you come. I did make the call before coming and was glad I did. I ordered French toast and it came out on what looked like burger buns. It was still very good and tasty. I appreciated their ability to adapt but found it interesting they didn’t mention this. My uncle sat at another table, at the same time, and asked for GF toast and was told there was no GF bread left. Just mentioning this because you might want to question all of this on the phone before you come if this would bother you. I had the GF French toast with Nutella drizzle and a side of bacon. It was tasty and a healthy portion. The Nutella was a nice touch. The bacon was a little thin for my liking, could have been a little crispier but there was a good amount for a side. My significant other agrees with my comment about the bacon. But he said the toast was very good and the deep fried home fries were pretty good. Overall a standard breakfasts Prices were reasonable and service was great. A good option for a quick breakfast if you are in the area. And many seats offer great views of the water.

We remembered eating here last year and had a good experience. We arrived at 12:30 with two hungry kids. After about 35 minutes, the waitress checked on us and asked "how is everything" before noticing that she hadn't brought us our food yet. She quickly ducked away without saying anything else or waiting for our response. Ten minutes later, after having watched two tables behind us order, get served, and get their bill, we got our food. It was cold. My husband's quesadilla was soggy from the tomatoes/etc sitting on the top for who knows how long. The waitress didn't come back to check on us to make sure everything was good (it wasn't because it was cold). My husband ate the quesadilla even though it looked awful and should have been remade. My french dip and the kids food was also cold, but more edible. My meal would have been fantastic had it been served when it was ready. We didn't have enough napkins. The waitress remembered our table again at some point, maybe 15 minutes later, and we let her know that the food had arrived cold and the quesadilla was not good. She offered no solutions and just left. At this point it's 1:35 and we're waiting on the bill. I stood up, holding my toddler and watched for about 10 minutes while she individually checked out a group of 5 men in suits who hadn't been there when we came in. She went to a handful of other tables, never coming back our way or noticing that I'm just standing in the middle of the restaurant, wanting to leave. She came back to our section to check on another table but we couldn't get her attention. I flagged down another server and asked for help getting us our bill so that we could go. She still didn't come. At 1:50, my husband went up to the front to try to find someone and pay. The waitress finally stopped by and I asked her for the bill so that we could go because we'd been there a long time. She got defensive and told me that there were only two servers so she's had to cover a lot of tables. I didn't respond to that and she left, but I feel like if you forget to bring a table their food you say sorry, try to make it right, and not give an attitude when they complain about slow service. The table behind us, who had recently been seated, got up and left after watching me stand there for awhile and overhearing what she said. I hope the men in suits tipped well because she got nothing from us. I have NEVER not left a tip because I know the job is hard but we didn't really receive any service. It's very unlikely that we'll be back again. I tried to select 0 stars for service, but it...

Waited about one hour for our checks, Steak and ribeye was all fat and barely seasoned, manager was rude, the overall service was inattentive and slow. Got there at 5:00pm and didn't leave until 8:45 due to bad service.

Went to this place for the first time at 5:00 and asked the hostess if they can accommodate 10 people. She said yes but asked for time to figure out where to put us. Once we sat down our waiter came to take our drinks. We waited about 15 minutes for only 2 of our drinks to come out and another 15 minutes for the rest. Thats 30 minutes just for drinks. Our waiter was also the only bar tender in that part of the restaurant. Soon after we told him a few appetizers which came out pretty quick. The waiter said it was his first time on the job so we completely understand why he was a little slower at some things. After we ate our appetizers we waited about 30 minutes until I finally caught him and asked him to take our entree orders. The food took 45 minutes to come out of the kitchen. One of the orders was incorrect serving only an appetizer and not the full meal. The steak on the salad was unseasoned and super chewy including the ribeye, which was all fat barely any meat and super over priced for the small portion. Two friends both ordered purple haze fish bowl, these drinks was mostly ice and juice. The cocktail menu had no prices so they had no idea each drink was 24 dollars. Neither of them tasted alcohol and felt nothing after drinking them. My friend with the incorrect order waited 35 minutes for 3 crab cakes to be made. By this time we asked for our checks and waited about one hour. During this time we asked the manager 3 times to assist the waiter because his entire focus was on the bar and not us. The manager told us it will be a while… Why would it be a while to get us our checks? Finally another manager came by to handle the check situation at about the hour mark and still we waited about 30 minutes for him to come swipe our cards.

I do not put the blame on the waiter, I put the blame on management who neglected its customers and failed to hire enough help to keep the restaurant flowing. Also for putting an inexperienced waiter to hold down our big table and serve a busy bar area. Never again am...

We visited this establishment on a fine Thursday evening. We had a reservation so there was no wait to sit and headed to our table. The waitress was with us shortly and got our drink orders as well as appetizers. The drinks came quick but the appetizer seemed to take a very long time to come.

We ordered the "dip and dip," which was buffalo dip and artichoke dip with tortilla chips. This dish left much to be desired. The dips were barely warm with a portion size that might be fit for a small child, not our group of five. And the chips, they were so small it seemed we were eating the crumbs from the bottom of the bag. Dusty.

We had put in our food orders before this and than after a reasonable wait we're presented with our entrees. Mediterranean pasta with chicken, barbeque ribs, chicken caeser salad, and a chicken quesadilla. Basic but hard to get wrong. Well...they got these wrong.

Two people in our group ordered the Mediterranean pasta. The pasta was missing olives and had very little flavor. According to one, "it was the most bland thing they had ever eaten." The other barely ate any as they were waiting for the waitress to ask for parmesan cheese...the waitress didn't show until we had already finished our meals. Delicious.

Another person got the chicken quesadilla. Something you'd expect even your 9 year old to be able make. Well I don't know who was cooking but my friend said that the chicken was so dry he needed 3 glasses of water to wash it down. Yum.

I got the chicken caeser salad and was slightly disappointed when it was set down. The salad was large but there was hardly any chicken on it. Less than half a chicken breast. I began eating anyway but as I took my first bite, was met with a mouthful of dressing. I went in for another, then another, and they were all like this. Dressing dripping off of each forkful. It seemed as if someone had poured half the bottle of dressing on it and it made the dish almost inedible. Tasty.

The ribs were nothing special but we had no complaints...probably the best dish out of the group.

To be fair, as we were walking out we heard a group of women exclaiming about how great their fish sandwiches were...maybe we ordered the...
