I am sharing my experiences with a recent electric dryer purchase from the Amherst Transit Road location. My expectations are being able to positively update the ratings.
Monday, I had a electric dryer delivered. There were no issues with the communication and the actual delivery of dryer. That is when the transaction turned negative and I found out that dryer is apparently dead-on-arrival.
After the delivery individuals attached the, additional cost, cord to the dryer and installed the dryer, I was told to run the dryer on a full cycle without clothes. While the one delivery individual was still there I pressed the Power button and nothing. We went to the breaker box and noticed that the breaker for the dryer was not fully in the on position. After trying to fully engage the breaker, I told the delivery individual that I would have to have some from maintenance to come out and diagnosis the issue. The delivery then individual left.
A couple of hours later, maintenance came and reported that there was no issue with the breaker and that they would have the electrician come by to look at it. The electricial came and after analyzing the problem reported that the issue was not with the breaker or the outlet, it was with the dryer and the wiring not being correct.
I then called Orville service concerning the issue. The agent asked if the delivery team made sure the dryer was working before they left, which I replied no. I explained to him what took place. He responded that the soonest he could have someone come out was Thursday afternoon, four (4) days later.
When I called the Transit Road location to let them know what happened, the response was so lackadaisical. I then asked to speak to a manager. I was told that a Service Manager would return my call. I have not heard back as of the time of this posting.
Is this acceptable customer service?
Stay tuned. . .
12/20 - This morning, I received a chatbot text message confirming the service technician is coming out tomorrow (Thursday). The message asked me to confirm the service technician coming to my billing address NOT the address which for which the dryer was delivered.
I had to spend 15 minutes calling the service manager's number for them to correct the error. I now have to wait until tomorrow to get a call let me know the correct address is being serviced. I'm not feeling very confident at this point.
Stay tuned. . .
12/21 - This morning I received another chatbot text and email both showing the incorrect address. Orville needs to check on the chatbots they send out. The service technician did come to the correct address and was able to quickly correct the problem. Sales 4, Telephone Service Customer Service 3, Service Technician 5.
I am relieved to have a...
Read moreDONT BUY UNTIL YOU READ THIS I run a customer service group and our company does make mistakes but we admit to them and go out of our way to make it right. Orville USED to be that kind of company but the are not anymore! The shelf broke in my fridge. its under warranty but i still need to BUY a shelf because "cosmetic" pieces are not under warranty. i spent 7k in appliances and they will not take care of the shelf which is made of plastic to hold gallons of milk. the fridge came dented I did not want it. The delivery guy said the office is closed (it was the weekend) that he will write a statement that it is damaged and took a pic of it and left a copy with me and told me to call on monday. I called on monday and Jeff, the service mgr told me that I am stuck with it that one of his employees would never misinform me that once i noticed the fridge was damaged is should have refused it. I am not Orvilles employee I dont know their rules. I had the fridge for a day, it came dented and no one is denying it. I got stuck with it. Since then, Orivilles does not do the repairs, they hire another company called Naab and Moring that have been to my home 4 times to fix the ice machine and the leaking. I have had to take time off of work to take all the food out of my fridge and freezer multiple times and unplug and move it, just to have them do a repair that does not work. Now I have mold in my deli shleves that is stuck under a layer of plastic that I cant remove and we are not eating out of mold infested shelves. Jeff the service manager does not care. Im a single mom and it took me a few years working a second job to save up to replace all my appliances. I was so excited and now this has turned into the worse purchase I have ever made and on top of that Jeff, the service manager being rude and mean to me over and over again just makes it so much worse. How can a manager of CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE SUCH LITTLE COMPASSION?
My mother recently bought all new appliances to sell her house from Orvilles. When the home inspector came to inspect the house for the buyers he found the new dishwasher was hooked up incorrectly which could start a fire and my mom had to hire an electrician for close to 300.00 to fix orvilles mistake. Again, my mom has bought from orvilles for decades. THE COMPANY IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE. BUY FROM LOWES AND HOME DEPOT!!! THEY STAND BEHIND EVERYTHING THEY SELL. MY SISTER BOUGHT FROM LOWES INSTEAD OF ORVILLES RECENTLY DUE TO THE POOR EXPERIENCES ME AND MY MOM HAVE HAD. HER FRIDGE HAD A PROBLEM AND THEY CAME AND PICKED IT UP A WEEK LATER AND GAVE HER A BRAND NEW ONE. JUST LIKE ORVILLES SHOULD HAVE...
Read moreBought all new appliances. Waited almost 4 mo the for washer and dryer to show up. When they finally arrived the first dryer showed up and was making a loud scraping sound from the drum. Delivery guys took dryer back brought out another one next day, same thing after they said they would verify operation the plastic had not been opened so lie #1, third one scheduled amd then got a call at delivery time was not on the truck never got loaded at warehouse, they come Thursday with the third dryer supposedly tested and to no avail same issues, called a manager at the transit store and he assured me that everything was going to be taken care of and we set up delivery for Sunday. Guess what another one damaged and making noise from the drum. At this point I decided I had wasted almost 10 hours of in and out of the house with a piece that was going to make noise, so with 2 more than accommodating delivery men, I had to fix a brand new appliance to be done with this nightmare. During the visit I could overhear the delivery manager basically telling them to leave a damaged item that they had made 4 attempts already they aren't making any more. So I get some tools out and fix a new dryer out of the box that was damaged yet again by the warehouses poor handling. Ridiculous after all the wasted time and speaking with some very rude people in the delivery department that I had to repair something that was brand new. Oh amd they left me all of the garbage from each broken delivery. See photo. Unreal you spen all of this money and they treat you like this don't they realize this is how they get paid. Guess we should have went to HD or lowes rather than trying to support a...
