German Auto Repairs — Local services in Town of Babylon

For anyone who is even considering bringing their vehicle here..please do NOT and shop around for a better mechanic. First off, he is a THEIF. A day later after dropping my car off.. he calls me to f/u but before telling me how much it would actually be..he asked how much was I willing to spend? That was a red flag and unprofessional. He then told me a ridiculous amount and after telling him no thanks ill pick up my car he then said he would lower it. He was trying to be slick and see how far he could go. After telling him no to the second price he offered.. he then said there will be a $200 expense for diagnosing the car…thats funny because on our phone call i pretty much told him what the issue was but just needed to know how much it would be to fix it & he never mentioned a fee for diagnosing the car BEFORE i actually brought my car in. DO NOT go here unless you want to pay more than you actually should. Greg is just trying to steal your money rather than actually help. You shouldn't trust him or this business. I went to German Auto Repairs expecting high quality auto repairs but I did not get anywhere close to that .My story with this auto shop is very long but i will sum it up for you in a couple of sentences. I brought my car in for an inspection and an oil change,(fairly easy job RIGHT). The mechanic tells me to leave the car for a day because he found something wrong with it, i thought this was fishy at first but i figured (benefit of doubt) why not. When i go to pick up my car ,i figure since i didn't get a call telling me what was wrong it must have been nothing. well the climax of this wonderful story is what I'm about to say, i received the bill and it was $786.85. The man charged me 100 a piece for head light bulbs , 240 for an oil change (claimed it was three hours labor) and a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff. Tell me how that makes...

John Tanden is right as I got the exact same story. I was quoted $1500 for 2 services to get my Mercedes running and out the door and at the end of the day gave me a $3500 bill for services rendered. I took my invoice to 2 other shops and they quoted over half off what I got billed for . Also the work was incomplete as another shop showed me the parts that were so called replaced were not touched and still factory original. BBB has negative reports on this business and i should have done my research. I have a civil suit pending...
