Update 7/15/22- The West Babylon store continues to stand out as an excellent store after visiting it multiple times a week since my last update. If I could, I would rate it higher than 5 stars. Prices for merchandise are usually lower than most other stores in an environment where everything is getting very expensive due to inflation. You may not always find what you are looking for; however, you can certainly find enough items to make it worthwhile.
This particular store in West Babylon stands out compared to the store on Merrick Road in Massapequa. The West Babylon store is very large, very neat and brightly lit up. It has a large parking lot and the store is easy to navigate. There is a lot of space inside which allows you to space yourself with regards to protecting yourself against Covid. My wife who very tough on stores was also impressed with the available selection of products. I have no doubt that my wife and I will be shopping there again. This particular store is definitely a standout and worth the trouble of checking it out. 11/5/22 As of today I'm sorry to say that both the Merrick NY and the West Babylon Lidl stores are a near waste of time to visit. Both stores have tons of empty shelves with little or no display or product variety. In addition, I also experienced strawberry and blueberry displays in the fresh produce department that were actually thawing berries being sold as fresh produce. In short, it's just not worth the trouble of shopping there for replacement of your favorite groceries. Instead, you can only go there to buy soda, beer, paper towels, toilet paper and a bunch of stuff you can otherwise buy at your local...
Read moreWhat the hell has happened to this store? This is got to be the most dirtiest disgusting filthy grocery store on Long Island. You walk in the floors are filthy. All the floors are soaking wet, tons of water coming out of all the broken faulty refrigerator units throughout the store. They throw rags down on top of the water as to help you prevent you from not falling. The floors are strewn with garbage. The food looks like it came from a third world country now laying all over the floor. The front store windows are so filthy you can't even see through them. Outside the store there is always litter. As soon as you walk in tbrough the doors... filth and papers/store flyers all over. At times you see homeless people laying in front of the store day after day. They never have shopping carts anywhere around anymore. The few that they have are all cracked and broken. You ask the cashier for a paper bag to buy for your groceries they look at you like you have three heads. What happened? Anytime you go there's only one cashier if that ready to take your money. The line has to build up down the aisle before somebody grudgingly comes up to the cash register to assist. And this is where people go to buy food? Save your lives go down the road to aldi. What a shame the store has gone down in quality service...
Read moreDo not get gift cards here! Other than that, it's a great store for the essentials. I find alot of their store brand items are equivalent and sometimes better than their name brand counterparts. My only issue I ever had was buying Uber eats gift cards I bought as gifts and after the person couldn't use them and going back to the store they couldn't help us. Said the card was activated but it had no money on it so that kinda ruined the gift. They won't refund the money either so just know if you buy a gift card from Lidl you may just be throwing away your money. They really need to improve their gift card situation. They have no customer service desk either so they want you to do everything online. So either customers are stealing the info off the cards, the employees are or it's the Uber eats company but I'm not taking any chances next...
