Terrible experience. I ordered 10 of a bunch of items to donate to the local school's supply drive. I came in with my two young boys, 5 & 8, and wanted to use order pickup to limit their exposure due to COVID. Did this Monday and no problem. On Wednesday all but 4 items were out of stock. I decided to cancel the order since I'd have to shop elsewhere for the rest of the things. When I asked to cancel the order, clerk looked at handheld device and told me it was cancelled and I'd get an email notification. Got to the car and email notification showed only items not in stock, no cancellation. I went back into the store and asked for a receipt showing cancelled. Clerk called the manager on me and walked away. Manager had me explain everything all over again, which defeated the purpose of the quick in and out and limiting my children's exposure. Manager did not seem to understand I was just in the store, and was asking me to log into app and website, to show her email saying my order was ready for pickup, even though she could see my order info on her handheld device. She told me my order was cancelled, even though website did not show it as cancelled. She insisted I needed to go home and wait for it to update. When I asked again for a receipt showing cancelled she kept saying, "ma'am calm down, you just need to go home and wait for website." I wasn't raising my voice, did not use profanity, nothing erratic, just asked repeatedly for a receipt to show that I am leaving the store without any items. She decided to call security on me and she walked away. Then I had to explain everything again to security. Security kept saying I needed to go home & call customer service, nothing they could do, but gave me customer service number. I don't understand why I couldn't get a piece of paper showing I cancelled order and left store with nothing, in case my order was not cancelled and I was charged. When I got home, order did not show as cancelled, still showed as waiting for pickup, and I had to cancel it myself from the website. I also had to call customer service. Terrible experience! I was originally worried about my children's exposure, and after having manager call security on me, I was worried for my children and my own safety! Why would i want to go into any store where i can walk 75% of the store without an employee in sight. I didnāt buy about an extra 200 in product because i could t find anyone to unlock a thing. Or ask questions.
When i find an employee it seems like im bothering them to answer a question.
Then because we are shopping for my mother in law as well. We went to self checkout to not make problems for the āsunny dispositionedā cashiers because we had multiple orders. Trying to be nice. And before anyone comments idk how retail works. I do Iāve worked retail.
We were Watched uncomfortably like a hawk like we were running out the store without paying. My fiancĆ© lost the 50 Disney gift card so i went back in and said did you by chance see us drop a Disney gift card. We arenāt seeing it. Not a move was made and i wasnāt even looked at. And was told āi donāt have it, and i canāt do anything for you. Check your receipt to see if you even payed for it.ā Yea didnāt pay for a gift card that you have to scan to activate and is on my receipt?! If i donāt pay for it itās worthless. Mind blown.
Thankfully the wagon bottom caught it during the trip through the parking lot.
Target your customer service is def on par with all retail on Long Island. Not one care in the world, treated like a thief, and when we had an issue basically was told to leave thereās nothing to do or help.

My only thing is a negative experience I had when I was looking for a pair a shoes and showed the associate the Target app which said the shoes I wanted were available and she told me that they were only at the clearance section and it was only what was left on the clearance rack, I even went back and told her what the app said and I just wanted a location of the shoes but she did not show me and told me again that they were clearance shoes and if itās not in that section there are none left. Well I kept looking for the shoes in the store, Thank God, and I found them. They were not clearance shoes and there was a section with multiple of that type of shoe.
