Was passing by after getting gas one day. Then saw this place opened up gave it a try 20 minutes before closing so I ordered take out, I had the Kalbi ramen and the beef was as tender as cotton candy, spice level was right on target and packing was really good for ramen take out. Today I decided to go back and try the sit down experience, I ordered the pork buns to start off they were very simple and very good. My main course was the shoyu paitan ramen (chicken ramen) it was impressively great, Chicken was shaved just right and the broth was the winner in my opinion. The owner was super nice and stopped by to check to see if everything was good, it was nice having a conversation with her and hearing about her newly opened store of course I told her how great everything was. 9 times out of 10 most ramen places in Long Island aren’t worth going back to. Kokyou this place will do good as long as they can be consistent with their menu. I will be going back to try other items on their menu and also recommend this place to anyone that enjoys good ramen.

We stayed at the Hilton-Long Island in Melville and decided to try Kokyou Ramen's takeout menu for the first time. It was the most beautiful and wonderful Japanese dining experience on Long Island! The Gyuniku Ramen was seasoned perfectly with its broth and tender, braised beef. The Seafood Ramen was well-proportioned with its shrimp, scallops, and mussels. Clearly, the texture and ingredients of the actual ramen noodle is of high quality, very different than processed, instant ramen. The juicy eggs were perfectly cooked with a soft, creamy flavor. The Mango and Strawberry Milk Teas were exceptional and deliciously filled with tapioca pearls. But, most of all, I was impressed with the cleverly constructed takeout containers used for the ramen. The soup was separated from the rest of the ingredients which prevented the ingredients from being overcooked. Everything in my takeout bag was thoughtfully packed and organized. I look forward to trying their appetizers and Donburi on my next visit. Bravo!

I have been WAITING for this spot to open for quite some time. Yesterday, I went to grab 5Guys but b-lined it when I saw Kokyou finally opened! Turns out it was their opening day, how sweet :) I ordered the Taro milk tea with bubbles and the Kalbi Ramen - both were absolutely phenomenal. The space itself is so clean and beautiful, simplistic and welcoming. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The chef even came over to confirm I was aware of the spice level of this dish and if I'd still like to order it - I gave the green light :-) I appreciated their attention to spice tolerance as I've not been warned before at other places and was overwhelmed with the heat of a dish. The Kalbi bowl came out piping hot with all fresh ingredients and a beautiful broth, not a drop was spared it was so dang good. Definitely hit this place if you are a ramen lover - I will definitely be back for more to try all the other wonderful offerings on their menu. Thank you Kokyou & may your business prosper!

The wait staff was very courteous, the place looked nice on the inside when we arrived, and put tables together for our group of 7 people that came in. Although the good I have to say ends there, we ordered our food and 2 of our party were left waiting a substantial amount of time more than everyone else. As for everyone else who order various ramen's and rice bowls that seemed tot be okay or decent since most others at the table at least moderately enjoyed their food (mostly the fried chicken Katsu seemed the best) I did not at all, the noodles and broth were bland and tasted just like watery noodles, I tried to get past the bad smell coming from the bowl (which I tried to just pass and eat anyway hoping it was just the seaweed as I am NOT hard to please). Despite that I tried to eat anyway and asked for some soy sauce to fix the extremely bland noodles, and was then handed an almost empty bottle. Needless to say, the first time I have ever not finished my food at a restaurant, and good thing too because I experienced some stomach pain later, and 2 other party members did not feel well at ALL. Will not be...

This place is so underrated and I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner.

There are so many ramen shops popping up, but this one stands out not just for how delicious the food is but the options. They have a great rice bowl section and a ramen section, so there's something for everyone. One thing I have to point out is how unique the ramen selection is here! They have a kalbi and a bulgogi ramen option which I was blown away by. Haven't seen options like that else where and their menu was definitely unique. I went with the kalbi spicy ramen and it was awesome! So much so that i can't wait to come back.

Portions are a great size, the broth on the tonkotsu and kalbi were delicious. I wish it was a little bit of a richer broth but it was still so good, so flavorful, and I can't wait to come back and try everything else they have to offer.

The ambiance of the restaurant is super cute and so aesthetically pleasing. The staff is super friendly, very attentive, and the restaurant itself is pretty clean. Very happy, so pleasantly surprised, and I can't wait to...
