Rockin' the Downs Concert Series — Local services in Town of Batavia

Recently attended my first "Rockin the downs" concert. When I first saw that "the Machine" was playing at Batavia Downs, the ad only stated The Machine.....with a time of 4:00PM. With this in mind, I purchased 4 tickets in the premium section. On the day of the show, we arrived around 3:30, figuring we would navigate our way to our seats. Imagine our surprise when we saw that a line had already formed and the doors wouldn't open until 4PM. I was told that the show would start at 5PM. So, having purchased premium tickets, we found seats in the 2nd row from the stage.....GREAT!. Then the bad news came....there were not 1, but 2 opening acts, and The Machine wouldn't be on until 8PM! Needless to say, our schedule didn't allow the 4 of us to be at the Downs until 10PM or later, so we had to leave before the Machine even started. What a waste of money. I cannot believe that it was advertised as it was, without any mention of 2 opening acts and that the band we paid to see would be on 4 hours after the advertised time. That was my first and LAST concert...

General admission seating was not a good choice. Lots of people smoking cigarettes and being generally unfriendly. Can't bring in water bottles. The portable sink outside of the portapotties was out of soap and that was before any band...

This is a great place. They let you come watch cool bands for free and give you $10 in free play for the casino. If you want seating up in front it starts at $20, well worth it. I have seen many shows here and planning...
