I had a pretty unpleasant experience when returning 2 pairs of pants that seemingly had a manufacturing defect with thier fabric. When i came to the return desk and shared with them what i was returning she immediately stated that it was normal wear and tare and that she could not return them. I became frustrated as i had only owned these 2 pairs of pants for only a month and a half. I wore each of them less than a half dozen times and i work in a pharmaceutical retail store. They both started to wear out at the knee portion of the pants. I have several other pairs of pants that are older than these 2 pairs that i work in and none have worn out yet. She asked a supervisor next to her about it and together they refused to return these 2 pairs of pants. After calling customer service, he informed me that if i had purchased them online they would return them no problem but because i bought them in store i have to go through the store. He asked to speak with them and after he spoke with one of the representatives she called another manager over who then agreed to return them for thesame exact pair, i refused to exchange them for the same exact pair as i was not satisfied with the pairs that i bought which then they finally agreed to exchange them for another pair. I felt as that Susan tried to belittle me with her unpleasant demeanor. I felt that the first supervisor tried to avoid the situation while knowing i was frustrated she left the area immediately. Also something else to consider, if i bought 2 pairs of pants at 46.99 each every month and a half due to "normal wear and tare" I'd be spending over $800 a year in pants. Read moreI love this JC Penney! They always have clothes in my size and style. I also like to buy my purses there. Their sales people are also kind and helpful. I'd give them 5 stars but I have one complaint. They need to offer more Wide Width shoe sizes. I was there recently looking for dress shoes I needed for the next day. However, I only found one pair of Wide Width shoes not in my size in their entire dress shoe section; and they looked fully stocked. Their shoe department was also having a sale while fully stocked. In the past, I was told I could order them online in my size; but that didn't help me at that moment. Also, I have a high instep that I inherited from my grandmother; so I have to try on shoes before buying them. Ordering a bunch online to try on is expensive and inconvenient. I miss the days when they used to offer more widths than just Medium and Wide Width, and they had sales people who would help you find a shoe in your size that you like. This is for shoe sales in general. I don't usually like sales people following me around asking me if they can help me; but in this case, it would be welcome. Thankfully, I did find some shoes that fit at a different store. However, it would have been nice to find dress shoes that fit me in my favorite...
Read moreThis JCPenneys went above and beyond!!! I had ordered shoes back on Aug 31 and was told they'd be in on Sept 4 at the store. I live an hour away so I took their word on the delivery date. No shoes. I waited until Sept 8 and went again. The JCPENNEY's app just said in transit with no tracking of movements. At the store they tried to locate the shoes with the store computer, no luck. They called customer service at JCP.com, no luck. Finally they said they thought they were lost but couldn't cancel them until they were lost for at least 10 days. Seeing how frustrated I was because if I would have ordered them directly from JCP.com I would have had them on Sept 4 at my house. They decided to reorder my shoes at the same price and then just have them delivered to my home for free. The store clerk said I'd receive them on Wed Sept 10 because they would ship them right to my house one day delivery. This helped out so much since I live so far away. They also said when the 10 day period came up they would just cancel my original order and refund my cc. Guess what I received them a day early and they fit perfect! Thank you...
