Been to the Shirley Kohl's a few times since they reorganized the checkout counter. I always appreciate Kohl's selection of clothing, but the check-out SERVICE has declined to the point of insulting. I haven't experienced any large department store with such slow, apparently uninterested in any level of consideration for the often 15, 20 people waiting in line. I noticed the newly in place self-checkouts were not being used by anyone. The combining of returns with checkout is a failure, as the checkout staff spend what looked like an unreasonable number of minutes chatting up people returning items, calling for someone from the floor to help them, folding clothes and seemingly looking for a place to put the returned items, etc. when the remaining one or two checkout staff are left to serve everyone else, and they are juat as slow. I rarely have seen any checkout staff in any store work as slowly as seems to be the norm there. A woman ahead of me in line said last time she was there she waited in line for over an hour. Other stores seem to be able to figure out how to provide quicker service to customers, not sure why this Kohl's has not. I've been in different Kohl's stores across the country and have never seen this level of poor service at their other checkout counters. It was MUCH better at this store before they reorganized and combined check out and returns. I kave heard other stores are dispensing with self-checkout because of their general unpopularity, but Kol's apparently disagrees with that position. I wondered idly, while wauting in the line for what seemed an extraordinary number if minutes, if the checkout staff were advised to slow down in serving customers to force the use of the self-checkouts. Either way, the poor service was being noticed by mire than me. One trip I had to leave my purchases behind because I ran out of time I had to wait in line. I seen other customers...
Read moreVisited last Saturday as we were in town for a wedding. The store opened at 10am but they let us and few others waiting in a few minutes early. We began our shopping. The store was clean, and every shelf was neatly stocked with products. I found my size in several items I was looking for.
We made our way upfront and the cashier couldn't find my Kohl's cash on my number. I pulled out phone and used the app. The cashier still couldnt get the $10 cash to load on register. She stated it's probably due to being one of the first transactions of the day. I have been to several Kohl's and never had an issue until today. She didn't wanna call over a Manager or head cashier, she instead scanned a store coupon that took off $8.37 (a percentage coupon) instructed I could always come back later refund transaction and try again with app a system wasn't working properly . I wasn't really worried about the $1.63 difference but her approach could have...
Read moreWent looking for sneakers. Big mess. Sneakers all over the place. Found 1 sneaker i liked. Was display sneaker. After looking at hundreds of boxes for match to the 1 sneaker I liked, I had to go walk around the entire store 3 times for a sales person to come back to sneaker section to help me. Had my granddaughter in cart, who after the long long search for the 1 stupid sneaker she started crying. Finally the salesperson asked the store manager to help with the search for the 1 sneaker. Of course, he couldn't find it either. So I guess they had ONE display sneaker with the mate to it totally GONE. So sales help hard to find, sneaker hard to find. So small credit to sales person that attempted to help. But, sneaker section a mess with boxes all over the place. Terrible. Never again. Made me remember why I stopped going there a long time ago. Along with...
