Another fine Solvay NY tradition Ascoti’s. How lucky the residents of Solvay and of Syracuse have been to have this Italian traditional meat market right here in the village. For years and years this market was located on Milton Avenue in Solvay. Not only do they have their world famous meatball mix but they still make their own sausages(mild, hot and garlic and basil). Their cuts of meats are definitely the finest around. In the tradition of the finest meat markets, Donze’s on the North side, and Indelicato’s in Auburn they continue to produce the finest meats anywhere. Problem is the beef is tied but not fully trimmed. Silver skin running down to the end. When I said for beef Wellington any butcher knows what that means. You need to charge me more? Say it and I’ll pay it. Thea loins are tied down the full length. Useless until I fully trim them tie the thin end under. Called and was given a lecture about how MUCH he trimmed. I’ve never seen a beef Wellington 25 inches long. Lost my business before it started. So many ways to make this better. Lecturing me wasn’t one.
