Atmosphere: Clean. Welcoming. There were two chess sets available on the tall tables near the front. Any establishment offering chess tells you they want you to relax. They offer fountain drinks, have refrigerators for other drinks, Gatorade, sodas, fruit drinks, and even a nonalcoholic beverage. The kitchen and prep area are an open layout, so you feel more connected with those making your food. The staff wore the same Kebab Guys shirts, which looked great. The decor was photos of cities and countries throughout the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa. Longer tables had bread and stuffed grape leaves. I felt very comfortable and would definitely see this as a location ideal for singles, work, school, or other gatherings.
As it is Ramadan, I ordered food to go. The packaging was suitable, food fit nicely in the containers, not too much space, not too little space.
Service: Fast, polite, friendly.
Food: I ordered the beef Burak egg rolls and beef Shawarma. The Burak egg rolls were really good. It's advertised as served with Tzatziki sauce. I'm not sure if they don't have sauce packets or containers, but my order didn't have any. It would have been nice to have. Definitely eat with napkins! The crisp pastry can get messy if on the go. But it was really good! A little dry by the time I reached home, and might be ideal with dipping sauces or if additional ingredients were in the egg roll. I will order these again.
The Beef Shawarma came with fries. It was a really good-sized sandwich! As noted in another post, it's a lot of beef, which I love, but for those who prefer more veggies, it might be lacking that balance. Great flavor, great size (it might be too big for some eaters). I will definitely be returning for these! The next day, I am craving this again!
The only thing I wasn't entirely fond of was the fries. Just a personal preference, just not my type of fries. They were a tad cold and dry by the time I reached home, so once I eat in the restaurant, I'll update if being eaten warmer is better. I might actually ask to not have fries since I might not eat them. Like I said, personal preference.
Hopefully, my review helped! A review helped me choose to eat here, and I'm so glad I did! I'll be going back as frequently...
Read moreGreat new place!!! The food was delicious. It was, hands down the best babaganoush I've ever had. The falafel patties were the second most delicious (my wife's are better). They were perfwctly spiced and cooked crispy and delicate on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. Food was fresh, hot/cold as appropriate, plentiful. It was cooked, seasoned, and prepared perfectly. I'm saying this now might likely be my favorite middle eastern place. A few more visits to confirm but if all stays this good...
The place was clean. Like immaculate. Floors, light fixtures, tables, bathrooms, glass, air vents, moldings, etc, all spotless. Super refreshing. I'm normally a little overly sensative to cleanliness. It says absolutely everything about how seriously the staff and owners take food safety, cleanliness, and food handling. This place left me without any concerns what-so-ever.
Service was very pleasant. The person taking the order was helpful and professional. He checked in with us at the table a couple times.
All in, I would highly recommend...
Read moreI haven't eaten much shish kebab in America, but using the kebabs I've had in Turkey as my benchmark, Kebab Guys' version tastes exactly the same - even that distinctive charcoal-grilled flavor is identical. Their shish kebabs (which they market as 'kofta') are truly outstanding.
What's more, I've tried döner all over the Boston area and in other countries (Nederlands, Canada and Belgium come to mind first), but most places serve some bizarre highly processed soy-protein concoction masquerading as döner. At Kebab Guys, however, they use real meat for their döner.
Now, authentic döner marinade shouldn't contain spices - it should just be yogurt or milk, onion juice, and salt. While I'm not crazy about the spiced marinade they use here, they do make proper meat döner. Honestly, this is the highest quality shish kebab and döner restaurant I've found in the...
