Five Below — Local services in Town of Cheektowaga

Normally, I don't go out of my way to complain but my experience with this storefront is unforgivable and disgusting. My family and I, Came in last night to get some stuff for a new tradition were starting this Christmas eve with my toddler. First, The store smelt horrible like a grow operation. There were minors in the store this shouldn't have been a thing at all. Secondly, regardless of the holidays being here or not the store was a mess things on the floor, Shelves left unstocked even with extra employees around. I literally watched two go into the back, One was training a young woman and there were two employees in the front. We go through grab what we came for and additional products. I spent nearly 100 dollars in this store last night. I am disgusted with what we found when we got home. I purchased the painless hair remover for myself, I suffer from PCOS if you don't know what that is please educate yourself. The box looked perfectly fine what you should expect when purchasing a brand new item. I took it out of the box it turned on I tried using it found it was getting hot and not working properly. I read the instructions I SHOULD HAVE PLACED THE BATTERY INSIDE. It shouldn't have turned on when it came out of the box. When I opened this thing theres black thick hair inside MY HAIR IS NOT BLACK NOT EVEN CLOSE. I am disgusted. I hope they realize beauty products are protected by the FDA and this is a health code violation. One I WILL be reporting. We live in a time of illness, I don't know what the person before me could have had. This shouldn't have happened. If someone were to return a product the staff would be fully aware stores are not allowed to put products like this back on the shelves after being returned due to the sanitary risks. I contacted corporate regarding this issue. On another note, I purchased the 6ft inflatable Christmas tree for my son when I opened the box you can tell the bottom tier has been completely cut there is only two tiers on this thing when there should be three. Again, if the staff bothered to check these items before returning them to shelves they would understand these products are used and damaged. This tree was for the tradition we planned on doing with my son. I wanted to decorate his bedroom and make it look like Christmas threw up in his room. He loves everything about Christmas. Unfortunately this throws our plans completely off as he was supposed to receive books for Christmas eve, Movie snacks and Christmas jammies underneath this tree in his room. I was in the store shopping. I watched multiple people pick things up and put them down. I watched workers stocking the shelves with their hands all over everything. I watched people riffling through birthday cards. I watched customers put hand baskets back without being whipped down. But God forbid some young kid working there sees me put on an open shawl to see if it would fit. Before I could even decide if I wanted it I was told that I shouldn't be trying it on and that he will take it and now put it in the backroom. Apparently cause there is Covid all over it now. After that I put all my stuff back I was going to buy back because I wasn't going to buy anything from the store after that. My mother was still buying a pair of shorts and asked the nice girl at the checkout if she could return them if she had to she said yes. Soooooo you can take clothes home try them on skin against skin and then return it. But can’t put an open shawl on over your clothes in the store? I am telling you right now this is why stores are closing. People won’t be harassed and confused while online shopping and even all the Covid worries can shop...

To state please be aware of my ratting requirements. Over all it is a well organized, clean store. They have an amazing amount of selection of many items. Price wise some items are very way over priced like the same gum and other items you can find really for 1$. They are trying to compete, but yet still sell items that can be bout a few doors down at Price Rite for 20-30cents cheeper giver or take. For the second day of being opened I would of thought that the employees on the floor would of been paying more attention to there sroundings to help flow/direct and watch for theft, but hey they don't work like the old days. The employees on the floor, some were shopping, most were playing with toys and balls, other we're being wired in the corner and giggling.
