Stop & Shop — Local services in Town of Clarkstown

I have nothing but praises for most of the store. Pharmacy, front end, and store cleanliness all 5 ⭐️. A special shout out to the front end manager who is always visible and available to customers. Today the lines were getting long and I guess there were no more cashiers, so she opened a self check lane and acted as a cashier to assist customers - looks like a lot of customers don’t like to use self check out. The only complaint I have is with the deli department. One deli worker walked away to do a task while I was next in line. There is nothing more frustrating than being completely ignored while you’re waiting your turn. She (Sue) walked away and (Steve) instructed her on her task all while leaving (Alex) to handle the customers. Another woman got in line behind me and nobody even made eye contact. Just want you to know the customers notice. We can go to any deli, there are plenty. I don’t mind waiting on a line but it’s unacceptable to walk away and ignore...

The store is clean and the staff is relatively helpful. My issue is as follows, they push the self checkout but literally have to put every item in the bag area even if its enormous and takes up the whole space. They recently thought it was Smart to add the anti theft wheels to their carts which conveniently lock up at random times despite paying my bill and being a regular customer. Im disappointed to be honest, if I wanted to act like I was shopping in a bad part of town I'd go shop in spring valley, this is nanuet and they have this place set up like its in Kensington in Philly ffs. You guys need to relax yourselves here a bit, you're frustrating loyal repeat customers over this and its not even necessary. The Median house cost is like a half Million in nanuet, stop acting like you're in the south Bronx...

The employees at this location are rude, they treated me as if they were doing me a favor. Yesterday at 6 pm I went to the deli, the man behind the counter got upset when I pointed out that I wanted the cold cuts sliced thin, then while he was cutting my cold cuts another employee began sweeping the floor. They both had a chuckle about that. I could see the dirt particles on the package. Then when I went to check out, the cashier offered no pleasantries or anything even after I told her to have a good night. I usually shop at the new city location. I will never step foot into the Nanuet stop and shop and I will pass this type of customer service along to family...
