I am both deeply disappointed and saddened by my experience with Earl B. Feiden today. As a repeat customer, I have always expected a high level of professionalism and customer service, but unfortunately, that was not what I received.
In anticipation of the Presidents’ Day sale, I visited the EBF website this morning in search of a gas range with a double oven. After finding a model I was excited about, I placed it in my cart and briefly stepped away to retrieve my credit card. Upon returning, I received a notification stating that the price had changed and that I needed to refresh my screen. After refreshing, I was shocked to see a substantial price increase.
Concerned, I used the website’s text function to contact the store directly and also followed up with an email to customer service. After waiting approximately three hours, I was able to speak to Mr. Feiden, who informed me that the price discrepancy was due to an error on the manufacturer’s end. He stated that there was no point in contacting them, as they would not make any adjustments, and that the store itself could not honor the original price. When I asked if there was any possible resolution, he simply reiterated that nothing could be done.
To say I am dissatisfied is an understatement. The dismissive tone of the conversation made it clear that my business was neither valued nor appreciated. Pricing errors happen, but how a company chooses to handle them speaks volumes about its commitment to customer service. In this case, my concerns were met with indifference rather than an effort to find a solution, which is both frustrating and disheartening.
As a business owner who manages multiple properties requiring high-quality appliances, I expect reliability, transparency, and a willingness to stand behind pricing and customer satisfaction. This experience has left me not only frustrated but genuinely saddened, as I had trusted Earl B. Feiden for my appliance needs. Read moreWe purchased a Bertazzoni dual fuel oven from Feiden’s in Latham in 2010 when we were doing an addition project on our house. At the same time, we bought a Bosch dishwasher, a GE Profile refrigerator and a Bosch washer & dryer.
Sometime around 2021, we had a problem with the refrigerator and we called your service department for help. We had a very bad experience with your service department at that time and I vowed never to buy anything from Feiden again.
Recently we started having issues with our Bertazzoni stove. I called my usual repair company, Mr Appliance in Malta, to have them fix it. They diagnosed it and ordered a couple of parts which didn’t fix the problem. They told me that the likely part that was causing our problem is no longer available due to the age of the appliance. Rather than scrapping a $10K stove, my wife suggested that we give Feiden another try. Reluctantly, I agreed. She placed a call to your parts department to verify that parts were still available for our unit. Once verified, she made an appointment with your service department.
Your technician, Will V, came to our house and diagnosed the problem, ordered parts and those parts didn’t fix it initially. He discovered that one of the parts Mr Appliance replaced was incorrect so he ordered the proper part. We were away for a month and Will returned just yesterday to complete the repair. I’m very pleased to report that it appears Will has completely fixed the problem we were having. He was great to work with and explained everything every step of the way. He’s fantastic. I have replaced all of my old kitchen appliances through this company which included a new oven hood, a new induction stove, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. Laura Valentino is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to appliances as well as design and was able to assist me with picking out the perfect appliances for my needs, space, and budget. For my first delivery, Tobias and Harold delivered my new oven and dishwasher. They were so unbelievably polite and friendly and very respectful of my home, as they laid down something to protect my flooring as they went in and out of the house. I was very impressed with their kindness and their efficiency. Thomas and Jake came to remove my old broken refrigerator and deliver and set up my new one. My old refrigerator was extremely large and difficult to move with the set up of my home and they took their time doing what they needed to do to ensure that it was safely removed. They carefully set up my new refrigerator and told me exactly how to use it. They were so kind, and even gave my big dogs a few pets before heading out.
