I had been looking at upgrading my diamond for years and left another jewelry store about a year ago as every time I went in I felt pressured and honestly a little intimidated. I decided to get my wedding bands soldered together with my engagement ring in the middle making it one piece instead of three. They did a great job and the cleaning of my ring was far superior to the previous jeweler so I kept going back when I needed a cleaning. Over the course of the year I bought some estate pieces at a great price and kept thinking about an upgrade for my engagement ring. A few weeks ago one of my wedding bands, please note not purchased here, broke. I was so upset. They took a look and said they could fix it easily and I decided to try on some larger diamonds. In the end, I decided to trade up my flawed diamond for a near perfect larger one and they worked with me to redesign the head to platinum and I left it with them hoping for a great result. I picked up my ring today and they dropped what they were doing during a busy time as excited for me as I was to get my ring back. The results are stunning and they asked to feature my ring on their website and I said, "of course!!" Rob Ferrara took personal care of my repair and upgrade and the rest of the staff kept me in the loop! I am ecstatic and it's like a...
Read moreMy situation was rectified in the end but only because I took action and went back into the store. I had two watch batteries replaced last week. When heading back to my car after picking up the watches I noticed one of them was scratched pretty severely on the back cover. I took it back in and the office manager graciously took it back to have it refinished. When I came back later that day to pick it up, the jeweler who worked on the watch said it was incredibly difficult to get the cover off to replace that battery. I would have had no problem with that if it was communicated to me that there were some issues replacing that battery... never mind the fact that they first handed the watch back to me with multiple deep scratches. Again, they rectified the issue and issued me a gift card, but this review is more for the idea that they nearly sent me on my way with a watch that they...
Read moreMy fiancé and I went to Mayfair Jewelers in Latham, NY. We had diamonds already and wanted them to be put into a setting, so they did and the guy that was helping us suggested we would put the rest of the stones in a necklace to have for our kids some day. We picked up the ring and my fiancé placed the order of the necklace..once he went to pick it up they only had the two stones on a pendant and no chain. The salesman told him the cheapest chain they could provide was starting at $150..after paying $240 for OUR stones to be put into a pendant..with no chain..the salesman told my fiancé that was the cost of the necklace when placing the order. We were obviously was mislead into thinking we would have a necklace. Therefore, I will not be doing any business with Mayfair anymore and I will let any of my friends and family know to not do business with Mayfair, unless they want to...
