Great service, great "diner" ambiance... we were pleasantly surprised at how clean it was inside. This is a one-visit impression and might get updated as we get more data points, but they seem to have an enormous and varied menu, and is hit or miss depending on what you get. I order an eggs Benedict at every diner I try, and so far the best in the area is at On The Hill Cafe. This plate had soggy English muffin on the bottom, spinach that tasted like it was frozen then steamed, water logged red peppers, tasteless portobella, and one egg that was cooked until the yolk was completely solid. Home fries also had large pieces that were undercooked and the whole plate was desperate for seasoning. We are very glad that this was not the only plate of food we ordered, because the other plate was a reuben and THE REUBEN WAS AMAZING. The curly fries were perfectly crispy. The meat was flavorful and juicy. Everything about the other plate of food was delicious, well balanced, and so satisfying. Its like the two items didn't even come from the same kitchen. We are so confused. So 1st visit conclusion: maybe they do griddle items well but stove top items badly. Maybe the cook at the stove was having a bad day. Maybe you should avoid anything with veggies at this diner, but go when you are craving a grilled sandwich. We have no idea, but we will definitely give it another shot. And maybe we'll order like five Reubens to-go.

You know how Vin Vin gives it up. I will be honest and transparent. We are 76 Diner goers and have been the last few months. However, we had wanted to try something else and also spread the breakfast going wealth to other diners in the area. I will say a few things, one loved the look of the diner, it reminded me of that old school outside but updated mid century modern inside. We had Marissa as a server and she was great and attentive. But waiting for the check became an issue and had to ask twice, but that's me being transparent with the experience. Food wise -- we had the DT combo which came with an omelette and pancakes. Omelette was good, pancakes were decent but not my favorite. I'm a bit of a pancake snob, so I'm particular! We also had the corn beef hash and eggs with rye toast. This is where it gets nostalgic for me☺️... The potatoes were ON POINT 🤤 reminding me of the diners I grew up going to, loved those. The hash was homemade and I love a good homemade hash so if you are a lover of hash then don't hesitate. Overall, I would come back and try some other items... There are tons of things on the menu a lot of which are homemade and to order so that is great! Whether you want to "cheat" on your regular, or make this your go to spot.. Vin Vin gives the okay! Enjoy and comment how you enjoyed your meal and what so I can try it next time I go!!

Usually great food, amazing desserts, and they do CURLEY FRIES. Lol. Currently they have outdoor seating (sep 2020) under a big tent, so parking is a lil ...lacking. staff are wonderful. Full marks! . *UPDATE 4/2021* FOOD has tanked in quality, amount, and value. Service is still great, but after getting rubbery chicken one visit, fatty overcooked French dip beef another, weak pan seared pierogies barely seared or topped, and a slice of carrot cake that dwarfs in quality and size to what they did for years... I'm giving up on them. Such a sad shift to see *Update 10/2022* They are much better now. Back where they used to be though on a saturday night they were swamped/slow. Still aside from an eggshell in my pancake the western omelet n pancakes were good. We will definitely return there. Though I still really miss their cajun chicken tortellini alfredo. Painfully so. Lol. UPDATE sep 2023- Had a good lunch this time. Got the big easy burger (subbed out bluecheese for pepperjack and curley fried) and my friend had the fried clam basket(w/curley fries). Was all good though the "cajun spices" on my burger were undetectable. All in all still solid meal and good service.

Well I'll tell you about my first experience here at DinerTime: we walked in on Sunday morning and were luckily seated promptly as the place was packed. We had to wait a little to order but our waitress did greet us appropriately and apologized for the delay. We ordered a western omelet (wife) and i ordered a mushroom and onion omelet. The wait was fine. I was excited because the omlet looked fresh and upon taking the first bites i was pleased with the taste. My next forkful would now be the beginning of my rating: upon taking my next mouthful i bit down and encountered a crunch. I continued chewing and encountered more crunches. I spit out the food i chewed and found what looked like several pieces of black rocks the size of fish tank gravel. I immediately called over the waitress and showed her the black rocks in the omelet that i had chewed . She apologized profusely and asked me if i wanted something else and would take the omelet off the bill. She then asked if I wanted something else. At the time i was in shock and needed some time. She took the plate back to the kitchen for and investgation. When she returned she said it was the fact that they didn't wash the mushrooms when they took them out of the box. She then asked me if i wanted something else and i ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. I was expecting the sandwich to be prepared within 8 to 10 minutes sue to my omelet having small rocks in it and i had to wait about 15 to 18 minutes for it to come. At this point i lost my appetite and got the sandwich to go. The waitress then apologized for for what happened and that I was very understanding. When i looked at the check i they hsd taken my omelet off the bill but charged me for the sandwich i ordered plus my wife's meal and our beverages. I was shocked that there was no attempt at any goodwill because if they had offered it i wouldve paid for my wife's western omelet. I was also shocked that no manager came over to us to apologize for this happening. In fact im surprised i didn't see a manager on premise especially since the place was packed. The cashier was a. 18 year old kid and i wasnt going to complain about him. We paid the bill and still left a tip for the waitress despite in my opinion they dropped the ball. It shouldn't have been put upon the waitress to make the decision to give good will or not, but honestly i could've cracked a tooth or possibly swallowed a rock that i may not have found from chewing. I dont expect to hear from this post and surprisingly i would consider eating here again. It was a bad week also workwise which i don't need to get i to but this was the icing on the cake. I think its great they use fresh mushrooms but hopefully in the future theyll remember to wash them. Im not posting any pictures because i didnt take any, but this did unfortunately happen today. Hopefully they'll come up with a better process on how to handle issues like this to better customer...

My fiancé was ordering multiple times a week at one point, anytime going out for breakfast or brunch came up she’d happily suggest dinertime…then one morning we decided to bring our daughter there after her kindergarten graduation in June and we had the most miserable waitresss ever….an older woman probably in her 60s, very rude ignored us for a long time and when she finally came over to take our orders she rushed us and told us my 10 year old couldn’t order a kids meal so we ended up leaving… ..fast forward to last week, my fiancé ordered to go, went in to pick up the food as she ordered online and they hadn’t started the order apparently they didn’t see it…no problem, she waited for the food….then, my kid tells me she found a long gross hair in one of her pancakes!!!!!! I look for myself and sure enough there it is!!

Super disgusting, so I call later that day and a young sounding girl says she’d refund the whole order which wasn’t much anyway, just under $30…only after being very rude and basically asking “what I want her to do about it?” As if a hair in a kids food is just acceptable, despite me telling her I have a video of the food in question this hair was in the batter it’s clearly cooked into the pancake…..she says 3-5 business days my money should be back….here we are one week later and she didn’t process any refund, I call again and get another incredibly rude person on the phone, a guy this time who clearly can’t be bothered who says refunds require the card information so the girl was just trying to get me off the phone it sounds like…..at this point my family is done with this establishment but we want our money back because hair in the food is absolutely disgusting and we had to throw our food out…

I shouldn’t have to stop there in person and deal with these rude individuals as if I’m begging for something because of their mistake! I do want to say a couple of the girls there are great, and do go above and beyond but everyone else could use a lesson in customer...

DinerTime, found near the Latham circle, is possible one of the best diner-themed restaurants this side of New York State. With a comfortable ambience, a superb quality of service and food to match.

My party was seated very quickly at one of the booth, which I have to say was one of the most comfortable booths I have ever sat upon. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant had the feel of a 1980's American Diner, but with updated ascetics that pleased the eye of a man like me who enjoys 'simple' over 'cluttered.' Everything looked clean, which meant I could fully enjoy my meal without being distracted. 5/5 stars for the ambience.

The service was top notch, as our waitress almost seemed to move like she were wearing roller skates. Refills, food, and answers to our questions were delivered with a hop in her step, and pep in her attitude. At one point the manager of the restaurant came out to greet everyone, introducing himself to us and providing a very interesting person to talk to. 5/5 stars for the service.

But what of the food? Well worry not, as this too was a category that knocked it out of the park. My Heartland Burger was cooked exactly liked I wanted, and while my onion rings could have been a bit more crispy, I was just too blown away by how awesome my burger was to really care. The rest of my party also had no complaints, and were in full agreeance that this was possibly one of the best Family Nights we've had in recent memory. 5/5 stars for the food.

Overall DinerTime was a restaurant that knew exactly what a hungry person wanted, and I'll be sure to keep this location...
