Sales. true to the word the salesman was friendly, inviting, didn't hover while we looked around at the many options that they have in the store and whenever we had questions he was always available and happy to answer them.
Delivery. Here's where it went south. The driver showed up when we expected him to. they moved the couch easily to where it needed to go. Signed the paperwork and left. All is good right? Not even close. I chose not to pay the 70$ assembly fee because it was described as a simple process and I'm a fairly handy person but upon arrival we were missing one very key component. The couch was already assembled, had no paperwork, parts list or assembly instructions included which I found a little rude considering they charge you to assemble it but won't give you a paper to tell you how to do it yourself. The power block that plugs into the wall was also missing from everything as all of the cords hung loosely underneath the couch. After 7 phone calls 3 voicemails that never responded to us and a full day worth of fighting with Taft they finally drove the power brick out and installed it for us. This was of course after they wanted me to drive to them to pick up the part (an hour and a half round trip) that they forgot which wasn't going to happen. Don't get me wrong it's a very nice couch but I don't know if it was worth the price I paid knowing the headaches I would have to go through to use it and the fear that they charged me full price and sent me a floor model that happened to be missing parts because it was installed in the store.
In conclusion. I would probably look elsewhere first before going back to Taft. It's a little hard to trust them after the headaches that I went through. They do have a great selection and great pricing but I would pick it up yourself and never let it out of your sight and watch them unpackage it to make sure all the...
Read moreI want to preface this by saying that I am taking the pandemic and all that comes with it into consideration. My experience with Taft has been a roller coaster ride. We purchased a sectional and was given an approximate date for availability which it far superseded. I’m not mad about that, what I’m mad about is the sales person giving me her personal guarantee twice that it wouldn’t be later than a specific date and it was, both times. Just tell the truth and say you don’t know. We ended up canceling the order because of our frustrations. We went back and ordered another sectional a little while later and this time the salesman (different one) said he can’t guarantee anything, which I was happy to hear the honesty. He was super nice up until the sale was completed. I called back to ask a question a few days later and he was extremely rude. Hung up the phone prematurely on me. Then we were finally given a delivery date which is 2 weeks later than availability of the couches and a 3hr timeframe for delivery. The couches never showed up. I called and they stated one of their delivery drivers quit. Again, I’m not upset about the driver quitting or the couches not showing for that reason. They never bothered to call and let me know it was rescheduled to 2 day’s later. I wasted 3 hours of my day waiting on them and I had to call to find out if they were coming or not. Lastly, their drivers when my couches did arrive, wouldn’t take off their shoes or wear the booties I provided. I had to argue with them and then they agreed to taking off their shoes. Taft on Central Ave was one of our first stops in our hunt for new Dining Room furniture. Geoff was helpful and pleasant to talk with. While looking for Dining Room Furniture we came across a bedroom set. We talked with Geoff and decided to purchase it. The price and quality of the set were in balance of each other. We did not find a Dining Room set but are extremely happy with our New Bedroom Set. I upgraded to a 5 star rating once our furniture was delivered on the date and time agreed on. The professionalism and the attentiveness of the delivery staff compares to no other. Gary and T.J. were the best I ever dealt with in ANY purchase and ANY delivery of any item I had delivered to my home. It was like they were delivering it to a family member. The care they gave to our home and our furniture was unmeasurable and the knowledge they shared with assembling and disassembling our furniture was fantastic, They also explained to us about if we have a problem ,who to contact and how. We recently moved into our home and have made several large purchases of furniture and appliances. TAFT was the best we dealt with in our purchase and delivery of any of our purchases.
