So the review before mine, saying that the 'dark haired Spanish girl' hasn't been there and it's been a mess since, I do agree that she worked very diligently and is very good at keeping a wild and crazy store going. I hope she is doing well because she has helped me many times. One time, years ago my wallet fell out of my pocket in the store and she put it in the safe in case I came back for it. I had just cashed a check and had several hundred dollars of cash in it. I was very grateful because I wouldn't have even blamed anyone for taking it or the wallet being there with the cash gone. But everything was still there. Now that's a good employee. There was a man in there too who was aware of the situation and I really was full of respect and gratitude, I appreciate knowing that good people like them are in our communities. When I drive by at9-10pm on my way home from work, if the lights are still on in there I picture them in there doing their best to get the store closed and ready for the morning shifts.
There's an older woman in the store that I don't particularly enjoy because I find her to be loud, boisterous and smells like stale smoke and clipped cigarettes. She will announce loudly that she can't get anything done and is not even supposed to be on register. Or that she didn't take a break and should have left hours ago... If her time management is out of control like that, it makes me think that she should adhere to the work she is assigned and not just fumble around assigning blame and making everyone else stress out over it. If she's not getting the work done then hmmm maybe, just maybe? They might hire another person or flex someone else in to give the store some reprieve. I'm sure she's a good worker in other regards. She doesn't make me feel unwelcomed or anything like other customers have reported, she's just stressed and frazzled. It's a clear indication that she needs help in there. I find it's unfair to compare the employees to one another. They are totally different people with different idiosyncrasies. There is a newer female employee in the store lately who is fast, efficient, detail oriented and really has combed through the aisles to remove expired products and organize the mess so the items are actually in the correct spots. A lot of times the store can't keep track of the inventory if they have a popular product that is behind an unpopular one. They won't get more of an item that has been displaced and still in the store or stolen. If they sell something then that can be replenished. I've noticed some products that they are supposed to carry but never have in stock are starting to be in stock again in the last couple of months which I am very grateful for. It's a difficult job. Please respect the workers in there even if you're at odds with them or having negative interactions. I hope people realize that their job is tiresome and not always rewarding. They are usually understaffed but mostly willing to help. They do put the customer needs ahead of their own so be sure to thank them and remember that they are...
Read moreFirst, let me say this searching for sale items on Saturday is fun. My husband's at work, and I don't have anything to do so I wanted to try this. I went to a Dollar General that was a little way out; the drive. I used the app for the first time which tells me what items are in stock. To my surprise though there were a lot of people in the store looking for the deals. Ran into this ridiculous a** Karen who later heard me listening to an IG video publicizing the sale and wanted to talk. I'm in line checking out and she's like oh where did you find this... Chick, please. The cashier said they prepare on Fridays for the sale and make sure things are in their place. I found that many items were hidden and/or out of place. All were in stock. Nevertheless, I believe this hack would have worked for me. Except I couldn't help with picking up other items on sale. I don't think I'll come back to this location to shop. Just because outside of Karen, there were some pretty aggressive other shoppers also looking for Saturday sales. That's nothing against the staff who were very friendly and helpful. But I prefer to shop with people who have manners. I added a video here of me trying to use a brown stick to get a power wash that was on sale but hidden on top shelf...
Read moreThe only reason why I gave this (Dollar General Store #16372) a one star rating because it’s very close to my home! (NOT BECAUSE OF EMPLOYEES HIRED) I was very happy to find out that the Dollar General was being built so close to me, a store that up until now,I loved to go to. most of the people that work there are very rude! Especially the Manager’s. Gearldine- the worst manager I’ve witnessed in my life! I’m 53 years old! Karen- she’s okay - I guess she’s new. Roberta -she is the assistant manager, not sure if she is the other manager that is also extremely Rude!!! I know there were at least two that were very rude !! I’m not sure if both Managers are still employed by your company or not!!! All I know is there’s a lot of turnover in the employees there!!! That should have warned you that something was wrong at that store!!!!
Please feel free to call me with any questions! You can get my phone number and address on my Dollar General...
