Unprofessional Wait Staff: We heard great reviews and wanted to eat at this diner. The tables were clean and the environment was pleasant. We orded mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they came out quick and were phenomenal. We were so excited for the rest of our meal but were instead greeted with choas. We are not picky eaters, however, in receiving our meals it was clear there was a mistake. I ordered a chicken-salad melt and a Caesar salad. I received a cold chicken salad sandwich, not a melt. I told the waitress it was okay and was just going to just eat the salad. The waitress had left and I soon realized she had given me the wrong salad and the wrong dressing. We waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come back so we could ask her for the correct salad and to see if it was possible /to hot press the sandwich quickly. She said sorry, however, it was very clear in the tone of her voice she was annoyed and unwanting to correct her mistake. She came back with the hot sandwich but instead of also bringing back the correct salad she brought me French fries. She then handed us our bill and we were not even halfway through eating. We had just gotten our food!! Guess it was clear she was done serving our table... We also sat 20 minutes without any water refills and had to get up to get our own water. We would've asked her for refills had she walked by our table but the waitress disappeared and never attended to us. My husband also ordered a medium rare burger but was given a very well-done burger instead. He did not want to be rude so he ate it and never made mention of it. We hate being "those customers" but the experience was not great, and it was not corrected by the waitress properly.....Wrong sandwich, wrong salad, overcooked burger, rude waitress, no refills, asked for a second salad and was given French fries, given the bill when we started eating (no chance to order coffee, tea or anything after the meal). Moral of this story: come here for good mozzarella sticks. But it may be a hit or miss with your meal and the service.

BEWARE!!!!! I went to The Colonie Diner tonight for dinner and got Chicken Vista which is a chicken breast stuffed with broccoli and mozz cheese. After eating 6-10 bites I noticed that the inside of the chicken breast was completely raw!!!!! I should have noticed sooner but was I was talking with my companion and didn't until I consumed about 1/4 of it. When I say raw, I mean completely RAW. The waitress took it back and I ordered a roast beef sandwich instead (which by the way I couldn't eat because I lost my appetite). Of course they refused to comp my meal and when I addressed it with the manager/owner (older Greek lady) she made no apologies but instead waved her hand in my face telling me that I shouldn't worry because it wont make me sick! I had a friend that was served raw chicken years ago and he had to have 1/2 his intestines removed and came very close to dying! YOU CAN'T SERVE RAW CHICKEN .. IT WILL KILL SOMEONE! And, they have the nerve to still charge me for my meal! DO NOT go here....even if it was an isolated case, the fact that the owner treated me like it was my fault and was waving her hand in my face telling me I wont get sick from raw chicken tells me that that they could care less about their customer's and the HEALTH of their customers. I WILL be contacting the NYS Department of Health as well. One last thing, I was raised in a restaurant. My family owned a diner in Niskayuna, NY for nearly 20 years, so I know the business and know how the Health Dept. monitors stuff like this. I surely hope that I don't wake up in the middle of the night tonight dealing with the after effects of consuming RAW CHICKEN! ...

When arriving u can tell the immediate change in atmosphere with old owners not running the place anymore. Seems slightly caodic with operations and service. We were waited on by Jessica and received soda with no taste and pure carbonation when I asked for another drink she did apologize but gave a attitude like it was an inconvenience for her. Waited almost ten minutes for food when we finally received it food was ok bread was flat like a tortilla a lot of mayo on both sandwiches. Asked for cheese on the one sandwich and didn't get the cheese on it. When mentioned to Jessica about the excessive mayo and no cheese she asked if we wanted another sandwich and at this point of being there so long and witnessing other employees arguing in the dinner area and swearing taking place we just wanted out. She without even asking if we wanted the fries on the plate snatched the entire plate and took it away as in we just got out in time out. When we asked for the check it took 5 plus minutes just to get the check. They did take off for the sandwich that was made incorrectly and loaded with mayo. When we went up to pay the women did offer to not charge for the other food put declined and paid for the meal that was eaten. Jessica was just overall rude and had no problem going around the restaurant to other workers and announcing the issues taking place and overall made the experience one to not forget and definitely leaves an impression on us to not return any time soon if that's the type of service that is being...
