Tex’s Chicken & Burgers — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

Tex's was a Wonderful Surprise. My Mother in law and I were out Christmas shopping and looking for something to eat that was fast , reasonably priced and nearby. This please fit the bill exactly. I noticed all the window stickers the Good Burger for $4.99 is what caught my eye hardly anywhere can you get a burger for five bucks nowadays 😁 let alone one that's made fresh. So with that and the picture of the big delicious Burger we walked inside. The smell was amazing. The food looked incredible it definitely had that classic fried Chicken restaurant vide. Even though I was drawn in by the burger, I ordered the hot Nashville chicken which look just as good and my mother-in-law ordered the grilled chicken burger as she was on a diet and was looking for something a little more healthy. The soda machine was having some issues and as soon as I let the lady know that the syrup and the carbonation was out they fixed it immediately. The service was amazing everyone was kind. The food came out and about 5-8 minutes very quick. And let's just say it did not disappoint. My Nashville chicken 🤩the chicken breast is really thick and juicy smothered well with spicy slightly sweet sauce. And my mom juicy as well. Any event fancy restaurants that we've gone to they have messed up her grilled chicken sandwich was dry so that made her really happy that made her really happy. We got the combo meals so it came with fries and a drink the fries were really good too they were shoestring fries kind of like McDonald's except for they tasted a hundred times better than McDonald's fries. Went here for dinner and ordered an 8 peice chicken only with biscuits and corn on the cob. I made sure to ask for the mixed chicken cux this store LOVE only giving dark meat legs and thighs. He confirmed it was mixed and white and dark meat. Total was about $23. Why I get home and there's only legs &thighs in my box after I paid extra for the mixe with white meat too.Im Livid! So, I call there next day and took 6 calls to get a person on the phone. The young woman was of no help and no customer service skills to assist after explaining the situation of being over charged and bamboozled with some chicken. She kept stating skew had no manager there and to call next day. I asked if she'd taken my complaint down and number at least but no she kept saying I'm sorry call back. I call and no answer again and now a week later still no manager. They are too far to drive to for me to not see a manager to compensate me the difference in price for the dark meat only. Tex’s in Albany is a small but clean spot with friendly staff and solid vibes. I appreciated the atmosphere and how well-kept everything was. My issue, though, was with their app. It was a frustrating experience trying to place an order, especially with the 20% off promo for loyal customers. I had to attempt it two or three times, and it still didn’t go through.

I voiced my frustration to the cashier, who explained that the store doesn't manage the app directly since they’re a franchisee. I understand that, but the customer still feels the impact. If the parent company expects people to use the app, they need to make sure it works consistently.
