Apple Farm — Local services in Town of Cortlandt

Apple Farms is a great addition to Croton. Like it's other stores Apple has good produce at good prices. Unlike all the other Apple stores I've been to this one has kept the classy style of the Zeytinia store that occupied the space until the paddy wagons came around and put the owners in jail for fraud.

I got pineapples that were actually golden and bananas that were actually yellow (doesn't it burn you up that you can't find a yellow banana any more?).The fish was delicious and price competitively: not quite the bargain of the produce but better quality that the big stores around - as good as Turco's fish but not as expensive and not a huge selection. The staff are a pleasure - as they are at the big stores in the area - but these people seem to know where things are.

Need for improvement. This used to be, and still is, my "go to" several times a week, but over the past year or so, the veggies and fruits aren't fresh. And some of the flowers are wilted or broken. They put stuff on sale, but when I get home the Campari tomatoes are mushy and the bottom strawberries moldy, for example.The apples are often bruised. The fish market is still great, and it's okay if some of staff doesn't speak English, but there needs to be a way of knowing that and getting assistance when needed. Also, waiting at the deli or fish counter for someone to assist is...

I saw that they had a deli, so I ordered a breakfast sandwich. I asked the cook if he could do the eggs over easy. He said yes, so I asked for sausage, fried tomato, cheddar, and jalapeños. They told me they didn't have sausage & they couldn't fry the tomatos. Something about the oil couldn't go on the frier. I didn't quite understand that, because they were frying the egg. After it was prepared, they put a $9. price on it. I inspected the sandwich. The egg was definitely not over easy. I don't know what you would call it. I didn't accept...
