The Westchester Balloon Company — Local services in Town of Cortlandt

I hate having to offer a bad review but before you go through with this company you should be aware. As a party event planner and experienced professional in event hosting I was very disappointed with this vendor. The photos attached speak for themselves. I called the same day of our event about our concerns and emailed them multiple times after and got a response weeks later. Only for them to blame the sun. Apparently if you have an event outdoors, even if in the shade you must expect oxidation and the appearance of poorly deflated and dusty balloons. As a business owner I wanted to give them an opportunity to rectify the matter. They refused to take ownership. We had high hopes for this vendor because of other reviews. But all we got after voicing our concerns was a smug laugh and possible credit for the next event. Not sure why I would do that after this experience. I’m glad our other balloon arches (self made) held up perfectly the entire day; as they should. (By the way these photos were taken within the first 20 minutes of arrival) this was the least of my concerns but the arch was also shaped like a sausage lol I guess they didn’t understand...

Unfortunately the experience wasn’t what I’m accustomed to. I deal with vendors on a weekly basis, and the product, and service was subpar at best. The balloons were cloudy, dusty and dull (oxidation before arriving on site) while we all are all aware this happens, a professional company should have a remedy for this, balloon shine prevents this from being the final delivered product. The losing of the initial email request, the forgetting what was needed, and the repeated reminders should’ve been a warning to search for another company, however we understand that things happen, and gave them the benefit of the doubt. The post customer service was even worst than the quality of the balloons. It too was lacking “luster” and professionalism. Definitely a hard pass and would not recommend! since a professional attitude, good customer service skills, and a little balloon shine could’ve remedied the situation. 2 stars because it was delivered on time, and the young man tried hard to place the balloons, though he seemed very lost on how to place them on a chiara wall but accepted the direction, scissors and ties we offered him to get...

I had a great experience working with Annie. She was responsive to emails and did a fantastic job of using my inspo photos to create two large displays for my baby shower. Some reviews offer criticism of how the balloons held up in the sun or outside, but I didn't have an issue. If the balloons looked "dusty," I didn't notice and actually liked the matte look. For reference, it was it was over 90 degrees and very humid. Some balloons did pop in the direct sun, but it did not impact the overall design and that's not the company's problem. My only negative is that the 3 small balloons bouquets to put along our private road and driveway as both are very long and directions cab we confusing were forgotten. However, Annie was apologetic and issued a refund quickly and I honestly didn't even notice they were missing because the large displays were so amazing and the perfect backdrop for photos. I would definitely use The Westchester Balloon Company again.
