I came here with some friends to have dinner and catch up. The diner itself was very clean and quiet. They have plenty of TV’s with different things on so you can definitely find something you like to watch while you eat. The waitress made sure we had what we needed. But, there is a specials menu with exclusive food on it that was show to us AFTER already ordering what we wanted from the regular menu, because we had no idea that there was a specials menu. The waitress should’ve brought that with the original menu so we looked at both at the same time. We all ordered different types of things but all of the food itself was very good. I got the Kentucky Burger with a baked potato on the side. I was going to get waffle fried but I have a seafood allergy and they put the fries in the same pot as the seafood. I wish they cooked their seafood separately so that it wouldn’t cross contaminate the rest of the food but it seems like they are only able to do it in one. I also got the special of the ribs that they had available and it was delicious. The portions were a good size and didn’t leave us too full. There were 9 of us and wanted to split the bill by what each person had ordered so we could pay individually, but the machine could only divide the bill in between two people. This is inconvenient because we each wanted to pay for ourselves so I hope that they can fix that for any future guests that want to pay...
Read moreWe came here driving through back to nyc but sadly disappointed. I got pancakes with a side of bacon and side of toast, and my girlfriend got a steak wrap of some sort. My toast was burnt black and cold, and the pancakes were cold and rubber like. I would even go as far as to say they are premade frozen pancakes they just heat up. :/ I didn’t complain because it was edible and I’m not one to complain , but after we got the check I was just very upset. If you add on meat to your pancake meal it’s $4.49 but they charged us full price at $6.99 and the toast wasn’t added as and item either, 2 pieces of burnt toast for 3.29. Smh and my girlfriend’s wrap had 4 small strips of over cooked steak and mostly consisted of pineapple chunks. This place is a good go to if you like processed low quality food. Nothing is fresh or homemade. Staff was nice but after seeing they don’t care to take the time to reply to low reviews shows me they don’t care to improve their business and they do not care about customers as a whole, only customers that give them good reviews and like it. If you’re a basic white person you’d love this. If you like flavorful food steer clear of this place. $70 bucks for trash food
Also edit to add notice they only praise positive reviews. They don’t care to address their...
Read moreSecond worst experience at a restaurant of any kind in 40+ years, and I've eaten at a LOT of restaurants. I must admit, it's rare for me to have found find a place with the lethal combination of both bad service AND poor quality food.
Journeyed to Westchester Diner on a Saturday morning while headed into Manhattan with my wife and three sons, ages 15, 4 and 2. When my wife asks for water, the waiter brings only three waters, none for my 4- & 2-yr old. My wife's pancakes are served cold, my teen's medium rare burger he'd asked for is grey to the center and the extra hollandaise I'd requested with my eggs benedict is M.I.A. When I remind the waiter about my extra hollandaise sauce, he returns with a side of it that I dump all over my hot home fries, only to discover that the hollandaise was served to me ice cold, fresh from the fridge. After I point out to the waiter about the cold hollandaise sauce, he returns with nuclear scalding hot hollandaise that numbs my tongue for the day and almost scorches the skin off the roof of my mouth.
Needless to say, we don't stick around. I pay the bill and leave with the intention of never darkening the Westchester Diner's doorstep again. It takes everything in me not to...
