BEARTOWN REDEMPTION CENTER — Local services in Town of Erwin

This place is a rip off. They made me leave my 17 bags (half of which were contractor bags FULL)there to be counted overnight which means I has TWO trips to the place to be able to get paid. Get there to pick up my money… somehow there were only 2200 cans. Seems strange since ONE contractor bag holds 300+ cans. Icing on the cake…the kid tried to short me $20 after that. Extremely disappointed with this place. I will never return here.

Editing to say I did call to speak to a manager and got nothing but the run around with him. He claimed my bags were full of two liter bottles even though my family doesn’t drink soda and I never buy two liters. Eventually he admitted to making a less than a dollar mistake. What a joke and a complete waste of time. STEER CLEAR.

I even went as far as to take a contractor bag full of cans to a different redemption center right before I called to speak to the manager so I would have a general idea of how many cans a bag indeed does hold. There were 312 in a bag that wasn’t even full to the top… now I’m no math expert but I can tell you that 17 bags times an average of 300 cans just doesn’t in anyway add up to 2200 cans as they claim it did. Smaller store with very helpful staff in all regards, great place to take returns and a pretty good variety of local and regional beers (Iron Flamingo, Rohrbach, Upstate) as well as the common american stuff in large quantities (cases and 30 packs). Some munchies and soda in hand too 👍.

Do not go here unless you have an hour to spend waiting. Every single time I have come here in the last 5 years I have had to wait at least 30 minutes for a few bags of cans. This afternoon I had four bags of cans and I am going on 44 minutes as we speak. It is much better to go to Wegmans or even Walmart because even if their machines break down a hundred times you can get in and out quicker than here.
