If you’re ever passing through Painted Post or the Gang Mills area of New York, Jellybeans Family Restaurant is a cozy local gem that delivers the kind of classic, no-frills comfort food that warms the soul. I stopped in for a hearty breakfast and left thoroughly satisfied—and full! I ordered the corned beef hash with over-easy eggs, and it hit all the right notes. The corned beef was nicely crisped on the outside, loaded with diced potatoes, and had that nostalgic, savory flavor you hope for in a good diner-style hash. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with silky yolks that ran beautifully over the hash and potatoes—truly a comforting, stick-to-your-ribs kind of plate. My second dish was the Spanish omelette, served with a zesty tomato-based salsa on top. The omelette was fluffy and well-cooked, and the salsa added just the right amount of kick without overpowering the eggs. It came with a generous portion of home fries that were golden and crispy in parts, soft and seasoned in others—exactly how diner potatoes should be. Jellybeans has that welcoming, old-school vibe with friendly service and prices that don’t break the bank. It’s not fancy, but it’s dependable, filling, and satisfying. Definitely worth a stop if you’re craving a solid breakfast or lunch.

Local, comfortable, "retro" restaurant. Booths. Tables. 11 of us went for breakfast...a challenge in ANY restaurant...especially Sunday morning, when lots of folk go out for breakfast. I called ahead to give them a "heads up". (Jelly Beans doesn't do reservations, but since there were so many of us, I wanted to make sure it wasn't impossible.) They were MOST accommodating! Told me they would "try". We waited 15 minutes...on a "packed" Sunday morning...for 3 tables right next to each other. AND, if we were willing to wait another 10 minutes, we could have all been at the same table. Could not believe HOW accommodating they were! Thank you Jelly Beans! Food was excellent...served hot and quickly. (Breakfast is usually pretty safe no matter where you go.) But to serve 11 people "multiple choices" breakfast AT THE SAME TIME! Now THAT is impressive! The service was excellent...and served with a smile! No one left hungry. My coffee cup was never empty. A very comfortable place with a warm, inviting atmosphere, and many choices of excellent food. About as good as it gets!

The cutest little restaurant ever. Very retro and homely feel, classic American comfort diner. Can’t beat it. We went on Mother’s Day in the late morning, which is understandably one of their busiest times. A little bit of a wait to seat 3 but not bad at all, maybe 10 minutes. Only caveat was there isn’t really a place to sit and wait, they just have you stand in the doorway, but that’s okay. Our server was very sweet and attentive, and the food was good. Home fries were more akin to potato rounds, but you can get them cubed. I asked for them extra crispy and there were maybe 4 of them that had any sort of crisp to them, but like I said, it was very busy so I completely understand and they were still really good. Pancakes were huge, I couldn’t even finish them. One was a little more well done than the other but very good overall. A little more on the pricey side, it was $60 before tip to feed the three of us, but it was worth it. An excellent little diner to stop in, especially for a Mother’s Day brunch.

My kids and I were so excited to try this place. We aren't from the area - just passing through from PA to Rochester. Well.. we walk in to be "greeted" with "How many?" No warm welcoming smile or "hello" from the hostess. We are seated then "greeted" by the waitress with "Can I start you off with some drinks?" Again, no proper greeting. The food was actually pretty good.. but not once did the server stop by to ask how things were or if we needed anything else. Also, I glance up at the counter and notice the display of crayons and coloring pages - perfect for toddlers! Not mine I guess. At this point I'm feeling like the lack of warmth is personal since I can see and hear cheerful greetings and goodbyes between the staff and other patrons. My son (2 yrs) and I finish eating first and the server asked if we were finished before taking our plates away. My daughter (4 yrs) is still finishing her hotdog. The server brings the check and actually says "thank you" with a little enthusiasm. As I'm taking care of the bill I here my daughter say "I'm still hungry." I look up and see that the server has taken her plate away before my daughter was finished eating. Nonetheless I give the server a $6 tip on a $20 bill. I gave her more than she deserved, but less than what I would have normally given under satisfactory circumstances. We get up to leave and of course as we are walking toward the door , we don't get a "goodbye" or "thank you come again" or have a nice day" - NOTHING but a glance in our direction. At this point I stop and grab the servers attention and let her know that the food was great, but the service was the coldest I'd ever experienced. "Oh I'm so sorry" she says.. to which I reply, "No, I don't think you are." I know that some establishments dread children, but mine were well behaved and controlled. The area was kept neat without messes and food everywhere. I'm struggling to figure out what exactly it was that prompted such piss-poor service. I'll never know, because I'll...

I went in for dinner with my s/o to give the restaurant a try. Once seated the hostess got us our drinks, after 6 minutes the waitress comes up to take our orders. When the waitress was taking our order she wasn’t listening to how we wanted it, which I will explain. We received our appetizer and the beer cheese was awful it tasted chalky and even looked that way. Then our food came. My s/o asked the waitress when she took our order for mayonnaise with his and there was none. I asked for mine to be cooked well done and to add pickles. It was still red and was a hamburger and there was no pickles. I am not one to send food back but I did and asked her to have them cook it longer. She said sure and then proceeded to yell where the hole place could here it how I was sending it back due to pinkness, when this thing was still red in spots, when she brought it back she said I got them to do it med well and left. It still was light pink but I was already embarrassed since she yelled it out. When she first brought our food out she left the receipt on the table, which would have been fine. However after almost completely what we could fathom to eat and waiting 20 min with also needing refills she finally shows up and asked if we want refills. When I said yes she said she will get to go boxes. It felt like we were being rushed out. They sit there and talk rudely about other customers and to each other. The beer selection was poor. What the menu said they had they didn’t. I am wiping my hands of this place and never going back. To be treated the way we were and ignored, plus shoved out basically is ridiculous. I hate leaving reviews especially on a individually owned business like this cause I know it’s the owners living but this is the worst I have ever had and if it saves someone else from being treated like this then it...

This place is tough to rate. Because the service is top shelf . You can tell that the people who work here are treated well bye the owners and love there job and it shows because they really go that extra mile to make the customers feel valuable. Now to the other half of my review. I hate to say this because I really love the people that work here. I'm new out here and have been here 10 times at least in the last year. And I've never been blown away bye a meal. I never thought man I wish I knew that recipe or that I don't want to learn that recipe because I love that here. The food is to simple and basic for there concept. Like as whole it makes no sense. I wish there was more deserts and deserts that incorporated the name. I wish the meals were more colorful and fun. And I wish the food was just better. They lack a lot of flavor and seem bland. Idk how to say it in a better way. I had a chicken Parm the other day it was grilled which is fine it's not how it's normally done but the marinara is watered down. If it is homemade you don't have to add water to it . It steals away the consistency. I had to use more Parm then usual to have a thicker then runny sauce. Then I herd you guys only do one form of gyro . None of which were just straight lamb . And I bet the taziki sauce isn't homemade. I know the meatballs are not. The Philly cheese steak shredded beef with no flavor, no wiz no cheese was on the one we got and was served on a hotdog roll . The ceacer isn't even a normal ceacer. The best meal I had from here was french toast and pancakes. Everything else was eh. But again the service is the most important thing and you get better then 5...
