Hampton Inn Corning/Painted Post — Hotel in Town of Erwin

Clean hotel with easy access and plenty of parking. Front desk staff was friendly. Room was clean and the A/C/Heater worked well. The bed was comfortable as well. But this room needs some updating as there are no USB plugs anywhere in the room so be careful if you need one or more. I stay in a lot of Hampton Inns and most have this feature now. I did find a disturbing issue with the door as I wanted to run out to my truck. I had the deadbolt on and it was difficult to even lock but I could not get the thing unlocked until after a good struggle. I am a big/strong guy and I could not believe I was going to have to call the desk for assistance with the door but I finally got it unlocked. Rm 218 if you get it then check it. There is evidence that maintenance has worked on it but they need to keep working on it. Had my wife been in the room she could not have opened it at all no matter how much she struggled. Breakfast was standard Hampton food but was fresh and a clean area. Driving to restaurants will take a few minutes but there were plenty to choose from. One irritating issue was the wifi. If I allowed my Mac to go to sleep the wifi would switch to the Lobby which did not work for the room. It happened a lot and I have never seen this before. Minor issue for sure. At the end of September 2024 we had the opportunity to stay at the Hampton Inn at Painted Post, New York State, for several days while we visited the Corning Glass museum and Watkins Glen.|We are Hilton Honors members, and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The amenities are similar to other hotels, but the staff and management definitely left an impression on us. |Right from our first interaction with the breakfast staff, the cleaning staff we met in the halls and especially the management at the front desk, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. |The manager Margie Mattison was extremely helpful with a couple of issues, and it was obvious that her positive attitude and excellent customer service carried over to all the staff in the hotel.|I would highly recommend anyone that is contemplating a visit to the Corning area to book your accommodation at the Painted Post location. |And please remember to give a small tip to the breakfast staff and the folks that clean your rooms. This is my second time in this hotel with my wife, very nice to be back there. The receptionists are very attentive. I thank everyone there for their attention. Great location. Easy check-in effort with friendly staff. Room was clean and well-maintained.The experience at this establishment surpassed all our expectations!
