3.5 rating bc it's definitely ok for a night or two, but it sadly seems to lack love and pride. PROS: clean room, great bathroom mirror and decent vanity space, good water pressure, safety bar on shower wall, microwave and (very good sized) fridge, receptionist was personable; hair dryer fried and was replaced immediately CONS: the entry door was not automatic. I held it for an able bodied woman as she tried to maneuver a luggage trolley through. anyone with mobility/strength issues would have difficulty with this door and no one in a wheel chair would be able to use it independently. it would be greatly beneficial to install and automatic door opener. 2. I felt like I was entering a bank with the glass-fronted check-in counter (totally ok...but for what purpose? there was a sign on the door stating masks were required....but were they? no one was wearing one. was it not just taken down after covid?). there was a big note on the aforementioned glass to use the phone to call for service as no one was at the desk (annoying...and again, for someone in a wheel chair, it might not have been a possible reach to get to the phone up on the counter). as I lifted the handset, someone did come around from the back. while the person was friendly, the first impression wasn't good. 3. the oh-so shabby lobby with random leftover "decor" and overall unappealing set-up was topped off by the worst peach paint throughout (lobby, halls and rooms). the place looks not just tired, but exhausted. it's something that could be remedied with just a few hundred dollars and 30 mins work (excluding painting time). 4. the hallways' canned lights, while plentiful, had yellow bulbs (I've never seen yellow light bulbs before) which made it...
Read moreI finally got a nice hot shower! The only problem was that i had to check out of the econolodge 3 days early in order to get one. I checked in on Saturday afternoon and was supposed to stay until Friday morning. On Sunday, my brother asked if i knew how to work the showers - he was in a room down the hall from me. I looked at it and couldn't figure it out. Finally, at 1030 pm i snagged the night clerk for help. He said the bathrooms had just been remodeled and it looked like the showers literally could not function as they were. He was very nice and said he'd get me a shower that night but it was late and i had my 8 month old with me. I said the next day would be fine. I was promptly forgotten about. I checked out Tuesday morning to go find a hotel with fully functioning bathrooms. Other things to note: My brothers room spontaneously flooded 4 hours after we left for the day. He had to be moved. The A/c must not have worked in the main rooms and hallways because the front doors to the hotel were open and it was humid and hot as heck. This led to a secondary problem of flies all over my room. My room had an A/C that could only be set on or off. You could set it to higher or lower but couldn't set the temperature so it would turn on and off automatically. In this summer heat, that meant a loud running noise all night. The pack n play they brought for my 8 month old smelled heavily of smoke and was stained. Gross. The hotel itself is outdated and in need of serious remodeling. No syrup at the breakfast area for waffles.
The good: Staff seemed friendly. Continental breakfast has a waffle maker and 2 hot...
Read moreRooms were clean but falling apart. The air conditioner cover fell off by walking by it. New owners were supposed to be starting repairs, as per them. I had sinus headaches every morning, which left me feeling crappy. The rooms must have had mold in them, cause after changing hotels, the headaches didn't occur. Owners do live on premises, which i thought would be a good thing, but rather not. I had to wash dishes and went into a small sink area, with an open door, with my dish soap, when the owner suddenly came in and asked me what I was doing. I then responded with washing dishes, I thought it was obvious. She then proceeded to tell me that I need to ask if using the sink area again. Mind all that it was literally a sink in a closet, with a camera right outside the room, that has a direct feed into the owners room. After that she locked all doors and,I wasn't aloud to use the sink area. Mind you we were supposed to be there for 6 weeks. So cooking was a necessity. Then informed that the owner was implying that I would "steal" something. I was appalled by the treatment and we left the next day. One thing to keep in mind is that the sink in the bathroom aren't a non porous surface, they are all cracked and filthy. I refused to use it to clean food items where I brush my teeth. The husband was excellent, but the wife wasn't accomadating what so ever. And my son was bitten all up in the shower!! In the shower, I was freaking out. They were fully aware of the flea issue and just continued...
