Warning/ Buyer Beware: assume most items not returnable and FINAL SALE. Seasonal items, sale items, and keepsake ornaments (keep in mind most of the store), are apparently not returnable AT ALL and are all FINAL SALE! Much to my shock I came to find this out after trying to return an ornament within the designated 30 day return period, and with my receipt. Was told it was indicated by small print paper labels at several locations among the many ornaments, as well as being told it was printed clearly on the receipt (which one doesn’t see until after their purchase is completed). It was never disclosed to me at the point of sale. Would suggest having a better policy for first timer customers, who are not familiar with the store and/ or Hallmark’s policies, or to have exceptions. When one spends $25 on a small ornament to find out later they have two, it’s quite surprising to find it can’t be returned. Many other stores have policies that would allow for a return, and some even extend the return times for seasonal gifts because these...
Read moreThough we are deep into the holiday season, there was a good selection. However, staff appeared bothered to assist, and distracted by their breakfast. In addition, they did not honor the 25% off for items on a table in which my items were displayed on. The response to my inquiry during checkout was that The sale ended yesterday and there is a date. OK, yet date is tiny and therefore misleading because 25% is in HUGE print. I had just purchased similar items on Saturday from Mathew’s Hallmark in Poughkeepsie. I drove 40 minutes to Fishkill to find more of the same items found in Poughkeepsie. In Fishkill, I felt unimportant, even down to the quality of the packaging of my purchases. As you can see, personally, the two Hallmark stores offer contrasting experiences. I’ll venture to...
Read moreI was shopping with my daughter for a quick birthday gift/card and a gentleman walked in to return a Christmas ornament. The girls at the register refused to accept it as it is a “seasonal item”. It is November & it is a Christmas ornament. He thought it was absurd (as did I), but the employee was very rude to him by making inappropriate comments even after he was leaving the store. Her rude comments were enough for me, a Hallmark enthusiast, so my 13 year old and I left and took my business elsewhere. Customer service is obviously not a priority here and rudeness to customers is completely...
