Regarding the review by Shaqori Morris: I’m saddened to see such a review about Wegman’s. I’ve always had a high opinion of this company and have always had a great experience shopping there. However, my experience as a white man is far too often radically different from other’s experience. Unconscious bias is a real and serious problem that some people face daily. This problem isn’t exclusive to Wegman’s; it’s so pervasive that one can’t escape it. At best, if we always assume this was nothing nefarious, people should still be aware that unconscious bias exists especially in a customer service business and adequate training and monitoring should be in place to actively identify this and make sure ALL people are comfortable to go through life doing even the most basic things like grabbing some lunch on their lunch break. Because of my privilege I don’t have the opportunity to address these issues when they happen to me because - it doesn’t happen to me. However, I would be part of the problem if I walked through life blissfully unaware of the discomfort and struggle that others face daily. As for my part, I can decide who deserves my business and who doesn’t. I genuinely hope that Wegman’s can acknowledge and reach out to anyone who has experienced this and doesn’t do the typical thing by making excuses or exonerating this behavior as if it doesn’t happen. Wegman’s should be a leader and have pride that they take this sort of thing seriously and take steps to make their employees aware of unconscious bias so this doesn’t happen to others. If everyone isn’t welcome and comfortable to shop in their stores I certainly...
Read moreNov 2024 Update: Wegmans loses another star. The produce has become so bad in the last few years. Bad onions, bad garlic, moldy tomatoes, and salad mixes and lettuce that are already decaying as soon as you open the bag (well before the best by date). At this point, I feel like I'm just buying expense compost from Wegmans... because that is where all of this low quality produce ends up. Attached photo is of a just opened box of salad mix. Purchased on Nov 17th, opened on Nov 19th, best by date Nov 23rd. Couldn't eat the salad mix even two days after purchasing!
Every year Wegmans becomes less and less special. I've been a Wegmans customer for nearly 25 years, but as they've expanded beyond NY state their selection of certain items (particularly baked good) has decreased substantially. Just a few years ago I could always count on being able to choose from at least 3-4 premium crumb topped pies at any given time. Over at least the last month the only crumb topped pie in the bakery section is Apple. Can't get cherry, can't get triple berry (which was fantastic!)... Where have the portugese rolls gone? What about the wheat rolls? Rolls and bread are now packed in plastic bags that can't breathe, so the crust texture suffers. Many baked goods now appear to come from a central bakery as opposed to being baked in store, and it shows in...
Read moreWithout question Wegmans is one of the best grocery stores in CNY. With that said I was pretty disappointed with their sparse selection of low GI/GL foods. Being a diabetic it is tough finding good selections of these foods and I expected Wegmans to not only have a wider selection BUT have special sections for diabetics like they do for "no gluten" foods. Having to walk the entire store hunting for low GI / GL items was very frustrating. At the least a list of low gi/gl products they carry would be a big help.
I also had a tough time finding low saturated fat products....
A great store that could be even better if they carried more low GI/GL and no sugar items and made them easier to find.

Wegmans is still a/the premier store in CNY. I tried thier cinimmon glazed roll. Not as good as Shelby's as it was too cakey, but better than Duncan Dougnuts.

Disappointed in that the camillus store did not have the better seafood salad. I don't understand why they carry the better seafood salad in thier DeWitt store but they only carry the cheapest in the Camillus store.

Still the best grocery store in CNY. With that said they need to do a much better job at producing good tasting low / no sugar foods for diabetics.... they need much better...
