UPDATE from a previous review:
Last month my wife and I brought our Yukon to have the A/C checked because it was not working properly. They estimated $1800 for the ac and they said I needed to sway bar LINKS at $600. I know itās a dealership but $600 for just links?!!! I went home a did it myself for under $40. Anyway, I couldnāt do the ac work myself but decided that Iād have the work done by Bergstrom but the one on college is one block from my house and itās easier to go there so while I was paying my $200 diagnostic fee I asked for a detailed estimate from Donald in the service department. He didnāt want to give me one and said they normally donāt do that! I paid the $200 and went home and let my anger build so I called him up and said I wasnāt asking I was demanding one. At this point he said he could send me a screenshot from his phone of the order and hung up on me! Yes, he hung up on me because I was still trying to talk. When I checked my email it showed the total for the work but nothing else. The following day I called and left a message for the service manager about the poor service. He NEVER called me back. Iāve bought several vehicles from Bergstrom including out two Yukons, a Tahoe, and our Acura and have never been treated like that! Side note: Iāll leave a separate positive review for the College Ave Bergstrom because they ended up taking care of our Yukon and did a great job for LESS so we are going back there! Bergstrom may be getting so big that customers are now taking a back seat. Hope not! We are NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION but again, Iām very pleased with the College Ave location!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Not sure really where to begin. I was heading out of town on vacation this coming week (Feb. 21) and needed an oil change and tire rotation. I called the Nicolet Rd. GMC location and they set me up for a 12:30 p.m. appointment. My wife and I showed up a little early and as we entered the service door entrance we were IMMEDIATELY met with a smiling service advisor Jennifer Govern. She was warm, welcoming, and her communication was excellent! Jennifer informed us that to completely service our 2011 GMC Yukon Denali it would take 40 minutes as they would completely inspect our truck. She personally escorted my wife and I to the guest waiting area and offered us snacks and beverages and made us feel at home. We enjoyed soda, coffee, and cookies and looked at trucks we couldn't afford (haha) while they serviced our Yukon. Let me tell you something......many of the young men and women in the service dept. go unseen and you may never see them but guys and gals you need to know that you do a GREAT job. It did take the full hour to service our Yukon and Bergstrom did a GREAT job! TPS sensors reset with no issues, oil life computer reset, all fluids filled, inspection done with ZERO upsells as it didn't need any, and all done with a smile! The ONLY hiccup came when we were charged for a tire rotation despite the face the rotation should have been free as we had purchased our tires from the same location with free rotation. I brought this to Jennifer's attention and she IMMEDIATELY refunded the difference with ZERO questions asked. It was really my fault as I should have reviewed the invoice first. Bottom line is this......they are AWESOME! I don't write many reviews as I hate writing them but I want to thank Jennifer Govern and her team. The entire Bergstrom team. I want to reach out to those who serviced our Yukon and thank you. GREAT JOB guys and gals! This is the second vehicle we've purchased from Bergstrom and it won't be the last. The service is why we will NEVER shop another dealership. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn November 2024 I bought a used 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 4x4 v8 Duramax diesel pickup truck from Bergstrom GMC and almost right away i noticed small issues. On my way to Florida I noticed a "clunking" sound in the higher gears of the 10 speed transmission but it seemed to go away. Then on my way back to Wisconsin the truck went in to safety mode which limited my top speed to only 65mph. I had to stop at the GMC dealership in Champaign Illinois where they had to replace something in the DEF tank. That took two days. Then on my way back to Florida I was towing a fifth wheel camper and the transmission issue came back. Plus for some reason I was getting the same fuel mileage, 8 miles per gallon, as a six-cylinder gasoline GMC truck was getting. I pulled into a wayside where I found the six cylinder GMC pulling the same type of fifth wheel as myself and during a conversation I found out that he was able to get 8-9 miles per gallon at 65 miles per hour well I got the same miles per gallon at 60 mph. With the diesel engine I should have gotten better fuel mileage than a 6 cylinder gasoline engine was getting. When I finally got to Florida I brought the truck into Crown GMC dealership in St Petersburg Florida on December 18th. And now it's January 20th and my truck is still At the dealership. Something is majorly wrong with the transmission and did has been in the repair shop for over 30 days. I just bought this truck from Bergstrom in November. But it has spent more than 30 days getting repairs. And I have no idea how long it's going to be in the shop for this major transmission issue. Bergstrom sold me a $65,000 truck that has a catastrophic transmission issue. I don't think there's anything I can do at this point in time but I am extremely dissatisfied with Bergstrom. I will never purchase another used vehicle from them. There is no way for me to tell as a customer that the vehicle was going to have catastrophic errors. But as a dealership I'm sure Bergstrom knew that this truck had major issues. Being that they are a GMC dealership I'm sure they have tests that showed them the problems with the transmission and other problems with the truck. At least I was smart enough to get the extended warranty and the problems should not cost me much out of pocket but I have been unable to use my truck for the past 30 days and I have no idea how much longer my truck is going to be in the repair shop. Plus I don't know what other issues I'm going to have along the way. It's been less than 3 months since I purchased the vehicle and out of that time, over one month has spent in the repair shop! Normally when you buy a used vehicle from a dealership there is some assurance that you're not going to get screwed. Especially when the dealership also sells brand new GMC vehicles. This dealership is not selling 20-year-old vehicles or high mileage vehicles. Bergstrom GMC claims to sell high quality used vehicles... But in this case they sold me a $65,000 piece of shi*! And now for the entire time that I own the truck I am going to worry about what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday we had the worst experience my quite and I have ever had. We were interested in a car and took it for a test drive yesterday. That went ok and because we were pressed for time we told the sales guy we'd stop back the next day to have them look at our vehicle we wanted to trade in and see how the numbers ran out. First when we got there the salesman we spoke to the day before was busy with another customer. We were okay with that and went inside to see if someone else could help us out. When we got in there was literally no one in the building. We stood there a good 5 minutes before someone walked by and that person didn't even talk to us. The salesman we were waiting for rushed in said he was getting a plate and keys for the other couple and that he'd be with us as soon as he could. We asked him if there was anyone else around and he said no he was the only one. He eventually did help us which was great but that took probably a good 15 minutes and we almost left. But after he started helping us they ran the numbers on our vehicle. Earlier in the day I ran to the credit union and had them give me the retail numbers on what our car was worth. They told us it was worth 16000 retail. We knew going into it that we would not be offered that amount but what they did offer us was shocking. The offer they ended up giving us was 11000 even though the salesman said our car was the cleanest one he had ever seen. That wasn't so bad as we were okay not taking the car and just accepting that was their offer but then the salesman told us that retail for our vehicle was only $14, 500 and that was based vehicles that were for sale that were like our car in the area. I told him that saw one online for 15500. He then said "yeah but it didn't sell for that that was just the listing price on the internet". I said that is true but that is the price that was out there and a retail price just like it was on Kelley Blue Book. He didn't respond to that but just kept saying well this is what we can do. I guess the thing that got to me is the fact that he kept changing his answers and changing his story. We've recently bought another vehicle from from Holiday in Fond du Lac and we had a totally different experience there. I'll never go back to this location and I plan on going to Holiday for any future purchases if we are...
