Summer camp with Camps R Us was a super positive experience for my son. He had HATED day camps in the past - was just miserable every day at drop off and would cry when I left. First day at CRU, the staff was so genuine and warm and friendly, my son immediately felt comfortable. And the only time he cried all summer was the last day, when he realized he wouldn’t see everyone again until the next year.
I have only had experience with the East Rockaway CRU team directly (and I cannot say enough awesome things about them and how they kept my son engaged every single day for eight weeks with games, bowling, swimming, field trips, and the like), but I also get the sense that every location is just as awesome in its own way.

They use timeouts excessively, so yes you are paying for them to sit out of whole activites like slip and slides, sports games, and this is as a whole group. My son had a horrible experience with the counselor who bullied him (6 years old). They are kids who are on some kind of 16 year old power trip. The camp overall is not organized, my son hated every single and would cry. He now refuses to go to back to camp because of this horrid place. Confer with your community with actual reviews...
