I went to this Chico's store in Garden City about 2 weeks ago, to return a few items that I have ordered online. The Indian lady wasn't happy that I was returning stuffs at her store. She said I could have mailed them back. I told her why would I incurred shipping expenses when my house is just 10 minutes away from the store? She then asked for my phone number. When she looked at my account, she asked why did you order 3 leather jackets. I told her I didn't order 3 leather jackets, but I did order another leather jacket, planning to give it as a gift. However, I did not receive this jacket yet. It is still in the mail. She then asked me why I return these items. I told her because I ordered the wrong size. They are too big for me, & I have re-ordered smaller size on some items. She said this is why you should shop at the store, & not do online shopping. I ignored her because it is my choice whether to do online shopping or shop at the store. The store doesn't always have my size anyway. Then, she returned all 6 of my items. When I looked at the total refund amount, I've noticed that the amount is short around $30. I asked her why it is short. She said, "Look, I returned all 6 of your items, & this is what you are going to get back." I said this is not right because I returned everything, & there is no shipping fee deducted, so why it is short $30. I offered to show her my order confirmation, but she just ignored me, & stopped talking to me. I have no choice, but to leave the store because there were people waiting on line to pay. When I got home, I emailed Chico's to let them know about this. Someone responded, but said they need proof. They mentioned they can't see images. So, I wrote out every items on my order, & every item returned, with the prices. When I was writing all these out, I found the Indian lady at the store returned 2 leather jackets, with 2 different prices, & I only returned one leather jacket. The other jacket is still in the mail. Of the 6 items I returned, only 3 she returned with the correct amount, the other 3 have amounts that I don't know where she got them from. This explains why I was short $30. As of now, I am still waiting for Chico's to respond to my emails, & I have written to them 2 times. Looks like they are also ignoring me. I normally don't write reviews, but I feel I should tell my story, so that whoever shop in this store should double check their receipt to make sure this store is charging or refunding them the correct amount. As for me, I am never going back to this store because even before, I remembered this Indian lady always made me feel uncomfortable, especially when I need to return things. She really needs some training to be a good sales person.
Update: Chico's still didn't answer my emails. Now that I received my second order, I need to also return items from this order because of the wrong size. I went to the Chico's in Bell Blvd. to return them, but couldn't return 2 of the items because the incompetent lady in the Garden City store mistakenly returned them already. I received these 2 items in the second order on 7/9/25, but she already returned them when I was in her store on 7/6/25, before I even received them. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to review the return receipt in the store on 7/6/25, because there was a line, & also this Indian sales lady in Garden City wasn't helpful. But the sales lady in Bell Blvd. was very helpful. She tried to call the Garden City store to help me resolved this, but wasn't successful. So, I have no choice, but to return to the Garden City store to talk to the assistant manager, but she couldn't resolve it for me. Now, I calculated the amount that Chico's owed me because I couldn't return these 2 items, & the amount is $109.93, plus tax. If it is a few dollars, I would let it go, but this is such a big amount that I need to straightened this out. I will call the number in the response of my complaint. Hopefully, they have someone smart enough to understand what is going on,...
Read moreSales people were very helpful! Good sized store and selection. I do love chico's clothes. However, disappointing that no Chico's carry size 4 or above in the store. You cannot try on a size 4 or above on for fit--you must order from website and take your chances on the fit. For a women size 4 and above , trying on a garment is essential to check fit, drape etc...Please find some retail space to carry these...
Read moreWith stores in several locations, my favorites include Garden City and Southampton. Chico"s brand serves up great lines of stylish clothing for almost any shape and size. I love their Travelers line best. This wrinkle-free line doesn't take up much luggage space and can easily be dressed up by accessories. And Chicos has much to choose from in wraps, jackets,...
