Emile's Candies — Local services in Town of Hempstead

I grew up in Oceanside, three blocks away from Emiles. In the 1970's we would go there, and the chocolates were always delicious. Every year, I would get a chocolate Easter Bunny in the spring and a chocolate Turkey for Thanksgiving. I left NY 30 years ago, but always go back home for a visit. For a while the place declined. It was a bit worn down, chocolate didn't taste quite as good.

But WOW... what a turnaround. The last couple of years, the place looks GREAT, kinda like it used to, but everything looks new, painted. It looks like new, yet very traditional and like I remembered as a kid. AND... the chocolate tastes great!! My Emiles is back, and better than before. I LOVE GOING BACK...

Emile’s Candies has been a part of my life since I was seven years old. I loved the chocolate back then, and I love it even more now. Their chocolates are the best, they are all so amazing, I can’t pick a favorite. Recently I attended a secret santa party with my friends and I got them all a bar of chocolate with special wrappers made up, everyone loved them!!! Simply the best chocolate ever. My family has been going here since the 1950s & the quality of the chocolate and the personalized service is still the same, the best. The store has been updated just enough, when you walk in it still feels like the Emilies you walked into as a child. The new owners have done an excellent job of carrying on a wonderful memory of so many people who still live near by or have moved away but still come to Emilies when they come back to Oceanside.
