Mother Kellys — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Two facts about this "family owned" restaurant: 1). Their reviews from 4 to 6 years ago are actually WORSE than their more recent reviews, so their awful food and service is NOT a result of Covid difficulties. 2). They obviously have NO respect for DELIVERY customers, and will botch up your order... with families ordering EXPENSIVE dinner menu items or even workers ordering LUNCH! Then they catch an attitude with NO apology if you dare to call to complain!

I ordered (5) food items from Mother Kelly's in Rockville Centre. The Penne w/butter sauce was OK. BUT the other Four things were either prepared wrong or just plain disgusting! My APPETIZER of so-called "fall off the bone - tender," BBQ spare ribs costing $21.00, were BURNT on one side. The Lobster Bisque was much too SALTY to eat! The Lasagna noodles were overcooked and mushy! The sauce was tart, and the ricotta was mixed into the meat and NOT layered! This expensively priced dish tasted like cheap canned pasta... even with the surprising addition of (unwanted) MEATBALLS! With the - (5) mini Canolis for $10 - desert SPECIAL, (1) of my mini Canali shells was NOT filled, at all!

As previously stated, the owner and staff offer NO apology when a complaint is called in by a delivery customer. Even though my entire $90.50 order - plus an additional $8.00 tip - was awful, I was factual, unaccusing and POLITE. Therefore, I feel that the nasty attitude of the owner was mostly because I was not physically sitting in the restaurant. Taking advantage of a customer is unacceptable!! Please do not visit or especially order delivery from this restaurant. Positive change...

Oh Man I was a regular at the Cedarhurst location years ago,now having moving out east and being a little older I finally discovered them again in Rockville centre & I'm glad they're still doing well! Stopped in for lunch and was greeted by the wonderful staff! I went kind of old school lol and ordered a regular slice and corner Sicilian and the gracious owner threw in a free slice for my kid! I thought that was really nice of him,Too bad they can't improvise and add a small seating area so for now it's just take out, I was happy to hear that they deliver to Merrick!anyway the pizza was absolutely amazing just like I remember it with fantastic that flavorful,delicious cheese and amazing crust!, The Sicilian was just as flavorful and unique with different herbs and sauce,The entire menu looks amazing and I can't wait to order some family dinners real soon now that I have...

Had gone previously to their old locations in five towns. This location's food is even better, I have ordered of the normal menu which is good, but this locations weekly specials are awesome. And the portions are huge enough to last for days. Even though they are primarily an Italian restaurant, I am more of a meat and potato guy , the brisket on the specials menu , comes with mashed and vegetables, comes in a steam tray pan, enough to last for multiple meals, or last week had the prime ribeye steak, again I made 2 large meals out of it. Wife likes Italian food but wanted a dish not on the menu , they made it to order . Their garlic nots are actually little swirls and delicious we always order sn extra, have also had them to cater our holiday meal. Highly recommend, Glen and the crew...
