Sandy Nails — Local services in Town of Hempstead

THEIR SERVICE SUCKS AND THEY RACISTS!! I have been going to them about 5 months now. I never had a problem until 2 weeks ago, I got a full set of nails. By the first week one of the nails started lifting up. Didn’t think much of it so I glued it down. The second week another nail came off while I was taking a shower out of nowhere without no incident. But that is not even the worse of it. Why I will never go back is because i experienced obvious RACISM. My boyfriend is not the type to get a manicure, however I convinced him to get one that day. Now remember I got a full set done. It took about 45 minutes. The girl that was doing my nails told the one next to her (I think her name was Amy). He is getting a manicure. She looked it him started fumbling in her drawer and then went over to Sandy and started massaging her. I’m like what hell is going on. Then she goes over to a white customer and starts massaging her. I asked the girl who is doing my nails can’t she do his nails. She said something to her in her language and points to my boyfriend. I’m assuming she was saying to do his nails. She still never came over. I guess the one that was doing my nails saw that it looked obvious and then she asked another Spanish girl that was finishing up someone’s feet in the back. At this point my nails were done. Now the Spanish girl was like ok you can come to my boyfriend. So I said hells noooo!!! This does not make any sense that he is sitting here for 45 minutes, my nails are done and no one attended to his nails which would have taken about 20 minutes. It’s so funny because the two people that I recommended told me they didn’t like how they did their nails. With that being said, i have no problem taking my money somewhere else. I work too hard for my money to be experiencing BAD SERVICE...

This place came highly recommended. Called on a Thursday to see if they had any cancellations for the following day (I figured it was a stretch and was prepared to schedule for a later date). Sandy answered and I had requested her or Jenny. She said Sandy got a cancellation and could see me at 5:30. Got there at5:24. She told me to pick a color. (I also needed to soak and she did not acknowledge it). I sit and I see Sandy running back and forth from her current client to a different one to then doing someone’s eyebrows, to taking payments. It is fully booked in the salon. It is now 5:55 and she tells me to come soak……. I patiently wait to see if she’s going to apologize for the delay, nothing. I sit and soak, she’s still doing her first client and then takes a DIFFERENT client to her chair to start acrylics. At this point I’m soaking for over half an hr. It is now 6:32 and a guy comes over and asks me what color I want. I ask “your doing it?” He said yes. I said “No thanks. Just remove the color and put a clear coat.” He said why? I said “because I’ve been sitting here for an hr now and Sandy doesn’t even have the courtesy to apologize and offer someone else.” He removed color, filed and aggressively removed cuticles. Charged me $5 for removing gel polish. Never an apology from him or Sandy. Sandy didn’t even look at me once after she left me to soak. Sandy is only looking to take as many clients for the money. I also wasn’t the only one upset as there was another lady complaining out loud that Sandy had left her waiting for 40mins. Use your own judgement, seems like they only give preference to CURRENT clients. If that’s the case, don’t make new clients...

I’ve been going to them for 2-3 years and honestly I’ve noticed how Sandy and her employees are racist and pick and choose who they give the best service to along with putting effort. I told Amy ( I believe) that I feel like I can see my nail through the tips that i had on previously and did fill in with Amy. Honestly they do such a horrible job on doing french tips on top of that nails unless they really like you and you’re in their liking of races. Sandy was trying to manipulate my sister and saying how they could’ve done my nails (Sandy sent a voicemail on my sisters phone) but before i left i told her i didn’t like my nails and she told me i should’ve said something earlier but i did to Amy about how i can see my literal grown out nails through the tips. I’m never ever going back there. They mad racist too also talking about you to your face in cantonese acting like i didn’t understand what they were saying about how i was not liking my nails even before they were completely finished. so also tried doing a pedicure and Amy didn’t like the fact that I said i didn’t like my nails bc their see through she wanna manipulate me saying i could’ve picked clear or pink but she started working on my nails anyways ??? Don’t do that manipulating thing just bc someone looks young but isn’t and taking advantage. I work hard for my money just for them to give me a shitty service and them literally not saying a single word about who will do my pedicure and Amy literally not doing my pedicure when she did my hands.
