BU Bartending — Local services in Town of Huntington

I've been using bottoms up bartending for the past few years and this past experience has by far been the worst ! I hired one wait staff that was scheduled to come at 6 and she arrived 30 mins late with no call from her or the owner Conrad. Upon her arrival she was very sweet and polite however she took no initiative to do any work, and the work she did do was highly mediocre. She spent majority of her time on her phone and the other portion of time she spent watching myself and my guest do the work. She then left early not completing the five hours which she was already paid for stating she had babysitting needs to attend to. When i contacted Conrad to discuss the event he stated he was in communication with her getting her side of the story i did not speak to Conrad until the following night where again i had to reach out to him first . The first rule of business is that the customer is always right Conrad clearly missed this lesson in school. He began to explain to me that he was still getting the story for the employee which is why he did not contact me back he stated that I the customer should have been helping the staff that I hired .I thought the concept of hiring someone was the opposite he then told me that what i need was a house keeper . Last i checked i didn't hire someone to just stand there he then told me that he has serviced events bigger and better than mine as if to say he was doing me a favor by taking my job, a job is a job regardless if it is at the royal palace or chucke cheese i give Conrad at least 2-3 jobs a year minimum for the past few years and to have been treated that way as a loyal customer was absolutely disgusting. Lastly he stated that he gives me a 50% discounted price at the cost of $25 so if you wish to pay $50 an hour for less than mediocre work this is the company for you . If you wish to pay that much money to watch the staff you hired watch you work this is the company for you . There are many mobile bartending and waitstaff company's out there who are not ran by arrogant owners who just took their first ride around the block on their newly spit shinned ...

Hate to make this review, but I will take this down as soon as the problem is alleviated.

I am owed approximately $500 for four jobs between June and July. I was with Bottoms Up Bartending for over a year and had great experiences with it and really enjoyed it. But not getting paid, and being fed excuses until I was flat out ignored for two weeks is unacceptable.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with clients, and as I said enjoyed working for him before, and felt that communication was good. There were problems time to time with payment, but never to this level of not being paid at all. I was even kind enough to work parties while still waiting for payment because I believed that I would get paid. Now I’m being ignored.

This company hires very positive and talented bartenders and servers who are looking to make some extra money on the weekends. It’s unfair to short us like this, and we shouldn’t have to keep asking for updates on payment, it should just happen. We’re not volunteers, we’re employees taking time out of our weekends off to drive to the job and work hard. I personally enjoy this work, but I am not okay with being discarded like this. I have bills to pay!

Bottoms Up Bartending is just… fantastic. All of our constantly changing needs were met from the very first intro email all the way through to the staff breaking down the event. Every team member adapted instantly to our space and needs with just a quick walk through and zero extra guidance. Total pros! Each person fulfilled their role of bartender, barback/server, and door person with such grace and ease. It really elevated the entire experience for our guests and for us as hosts to know those pivotal roles were filled by the top-notch people Bottoms Up graced us with.
