I love The Shed in Huntington. So, I was excited about the fact that they opened a new restaurant in Plainview. It did not disappoint!
The food is delicious. The atmosphere as well as esthetics are wonderful! However the star of this establishment is the staff.
I had called in advance to make sure that there was room for three people on a Saturday night. They don't take reservations, so I wanted to make sure it was worth the trip. Mora answered the phone and couldn't be nicer. She assured me that there was room at the bar and only a 25 minute wait at that point.
When we arrived we were greeted by such a welcoming staff. As luck had it, a table cleared and we were seated immediately!
The restaurant has a great vibe. I tend to look at it as a mash up between a hip Manhattan style restaurant with a chilled out Cape Cod cafe. A very clean and crisp look to the place with fun artwork.
Our waitress Danielle was a superstar! She was tremendous at her job, a sweet and genuine person, extremely helpful and professional and really good at her job. The attention that she gave our table was very much appreciated.
The manager, Mora, was also top shelf. She came over to our table several times to make sure that we were satisfied....and we were! She was extremely likeable and truly connected with our table. Professional and friendly....she has it all!
The hostess Kim was another gem! It was her birthday and she was working a long shift and so happy to be there. It was obvious she loved what she does.
Allison was also terrific!
As for the food...it was very good! We stared with the baked clams and fresh Ricotta on Sour Dough Bread. Then moved onto the entrees which were a Boneless Rib Eye, Reuben Sandwich and Cod with Carrot Pure and Bacclara. Then finished with a Banana Bread Pudding and a Flourless Chocolate Cake. Drop the 🎤, all freaking delicious!
Let me not forget to mention how fantastic the cocktails were. The bartender really took time to make the perfect drink. My Farmers Gin cocktail was balanced and full of terrific flavor!
In the end, they treated us like VIPs and I could be happier with the experience. I felt like I was with family! I will definitley come back again and...
Read moreWe celebrated a very special day today at The Shed — our wedding anniversary, August 16th, which also happens to be the one-year anniversary of adopting our dog, Piper. It felt fitting to mark both occasions here, since The Shed came up on the list of dog-friendly restaurants I asked ChatGPT to find for me, and they truly lived up to that label.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming not just to us, but to Piper as well. They went out of their way to make sure she felt included. When I asked for a disposable plate so she could eat, they didn’t just bring the plate — they also surprised us with a gift: a water pouch for dogs so Piper could drink comfortably. You can see it in our pictures and video, and Piper really loved it. It’s gestures like this that make me want to congratulate The Shed for being so genuinely dog-friendly. They’re not just allowing dogs; they’re embracing them as part of the experience.
The food was solid, if not spectacular. We had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon on English muffin, which was good, and the smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers on toast (served with eggs any style — my wife chose poached eggs). The flavors were enjoyable and the portions generous, though I’d say the food itself was just “okay” rather than outstanding.
Where The Shed really shines is the atmosphere. The location is fantastic, with a putting green out back where you can practice a few putts while waiting for your food. There’s also a small lake with a fountain that adds to the charm, making the whole place feel relaxed and inviting.
All in all, The Shed gave us a memorable anniversary outing. Between the lovely setting, the thoughtful staff, and especially the dog-friendly touches that made Piper feel like part of the celebration, we couldn’t have asked for a better spot. If you’re looking for a welcoming, relaxed, and truly dog-friendly restaurant in Plainview,...
Read moreMy family & I have officially become loyal patrons of The Shed in Plainview which is consistently welcoming, warm, comfortable and relaxing. Barbara, the outstanding manager, brought my daughter with special needs and I to our table right away. Eraldo, our server, was most professional, efficient and knowledgeable with making awesome meal suggestions. Water was immediately brought to our table and my daughter enjoyed her fantastic chicken tenders & french fries. The Shed Bowl with grilled chicken which I ordered tasted amazing. Both exquisitely seasoned meals were very well prepared, generously portioned, nicely presented on our plates and brought to our table with very little wait time. I was also immediately given a container for leftovers, my other daughter’s take out meal (she raved about the Farmer’s Breakfast that was cooked and seasoned to perfection!) and the check so I could be out in 35 minutes since I had to rush back home. Returned on 5/28 to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with my husband & 2 daughters. Chuck was our exceptional server. He greeted us warmly, made suggestions & modifications to my meal due to dietary restrictions and gave us undivided attention. Service was incredible and our meals (The Shed Bowl, Chicken & Waffles, Sirloin Steak & Lobster Roll) were prepared, cooked, seasoned & presented exquisitely. My daughter with special needs & I returned yesterday to The Shed after 6pm & were famished. Cici, our amazing hostess & server seated us immediately, made substitutions to our orders as requested to meet our dietary restrictions, served us & gave us to go boxes quickly! Barbara brought out my husband and other daughter's takeout meals in record timing! Our dishes (The Shed Bowl, Chicken & Waffles with lemonade, Summer Salad & Lobster Salad) tasted spectacular! Can’t wait to return with the rest of our family who live further away. Highly...
