Can't even get the most basic things right I went to Mavis in Hyde Park to get two tires I purchased from them installed onto the rims with old tires on them I brought in. They did the work in a timely manner and I returned to pick up the tires. I arrive home and to my surprise the sticky wheel weights were already falling off of both of the tires. After further inspection I see that they didn't even clean the place on the rim where the weights were to be placed. That is tire installation 101, and they couldn't even properly do the most basic thing. I called the store and asked them why they didn't clean the rim, and the manager replied that they didn't have the cleaner. So that meant that I couldn't even go back there to have the problem resolved. So I called customer solutions and told them what happened and what I was told by the manager. They were very helpful and told me a district manager would reach out to me in about 24 hours. About 2 hours later I get a call from the district manager. His phone etiquette was very lacking and I have heard 9 year old children do a better job at proper phone manners. After I pried his name of Darren out of him, he basically said that no one would say that they didn't have the cleaner, which I replied, listen to the phone recording. I then stated my concern if they even prepped and cleaned the rims properly as stated on the instructions located on the tire sticker since they couldn't even install the weights properly. He said absolutely they did. He then offered to meet me to fix the problem but I was unavailable. At this point they already wasted to much of my time, so this morning I went somewhere else and had to spend an extra $50 to have them mounted and balanced again. FYI, the rims were not properly cleaned where the bead seats. I find it naive of Darren to think that all the people that do business with mavis have never done a job that involves installing tires and that I wouldn't do my own investigation on the matter. I do not care about the money as much as I do the principle of the matter. I did my part and paid for the service, they did not do their part and provide the service properly. Bad business practice for one, and in certain situations, potentially dangerous. So thank you for wasting my money, and more importantly, my time. Sad that this is acceptable behavior from the store and the district manager. If I were being paid for this review as a company quality investigator, the upper management would be mortified if I actually did my 5 point review system. Let this be lesson to all involved, you never know who you are talking to. Step up your game before a paid investigator is the next person you do this to.

Read moreWell I decided to give this Mavis a go since it's close to home. Well that was a mistake. I made sure to tell the manager I know about cars and I am a mechanic myself. Well first he calls me in and says struts are recommended. They recommend things because of the cars milage not the condition of the part. They were just done 30k ago. Yeah so no. Then he asks me if I wanted an alignment I said I am sure it does not need it. Well the tech pulled the car up on the alignment rack. For maybe 3 minutes. When the technician handed me the keys I said how as the alignment. He said it was great. So that was a $100 donation. Here is the part that really is the reason for the negative review. On my invoice it says serviced TPMs valve stems. It's only$39.99 but with a $1100 tire bill it adds up. I said to him my cars TPMS system is not serviceable he said well my guy did it. So I walked out to my car popped off the valve cap and the same stems are still there oxidation and all. I made sure to show him and he offered to refund the money. It's not the point you're telling people you did a service and not doing it. I can only imagine how many people they rip off. Beware Mavis has certain things they push each week. Like every car needs struts. Take your car to a reputable mechanic and save the headache. 5 phone calls and finally got thru to someone. Which they offered me a voucher for $100 and to refund my "TPMs" service. Not the point of the money it's the integrity of the shop. Never again. I will go to one of the local guys and get what I actually paying for.
Eddie needs customer service 101. Also telling your customers that the call center does not know what they are doing is not a best practice. Explains why the place was slow on a Saturday morning in January. Last but not least the lady at the corporate office mutes you. I was not even loud or out of line. I was totally professional even though I was very aggravated. Look elsewhere for tires and I am sure the customer service will be better as it will not take much.
Maybe someone at Mavis Corporate will see this and want a satisfied customer. They have my money but definitely...
Read moreI called ahead of time and was scheduled for 5:00 to get 4 tires and an alignment. 5 minutes later I get a call confirming the appointment I just made over the phone. 5 minutes after that I got another call asking if I can be there at 4:30, because they wouldn’t have time to do the alignment otherwise. It was really difficult, but I rearranged my schedule that day, and drove 45 minutes, to get there at 4:15. Their garage bay was empty. But my truck still sat in the parking lot for almost 30 min before they brought it in. Soon after they brought the truck in, they informed me that they couldn’t do the alignment. They said it’s because I have a bad tie rod, and they offered to show me. (My entire front end had recently been rebuilt) They brought me into the garage and showed me that the wheel has a side to side wiggle. I looked underneath and everything was filthy (as usual because I never wash the underside of my truck) except the cleaner tie rod jam nut, which they obviously just loosened up with a wrench to create the wiggle. Doing that very obviously, but inadvertently wiped the road grime off the jam nut. I tightened it up with my fingers and said “really??? how is it now?” Then they all scrambled around getting tools to do the job, acting like they didn’t know how that happened. RIDICULOUS!!!!! And in the end, my alignment is not good. The truck pulls to the right. I’m sorry they didn’t feel like doing their job because it was close to quitting time that day. But that is their fault. I showed up early enough for them to get it done. My time is valuable too. Now I have to drive 45 each way and wait an hour for them to do the job again, and hopefully get it right this time without...
